Pop-up in Origin about EA app which can't be closed

Hi everyone. I have been playing Sims 3 through Origin for many years now, but today am having issues. When I open Origin I get a message pop up which says "The EA app is your new home for PC gaming....

Hey @punkerlishus going forward you will need to use the EA app to play your EA games.


Please follow the steps to install the EA app to continue playing.

@EA_Darko The app is unusable for most users, for a lot of games old and new. This needs to be addressed or we will need to be refunded of our games.
