I'm sorry but how are they scamming? You purchased the product and you played it. You got what you paid for. Now based on your response, I'm going to assume you came here from a certain someone Youtube's video. The legal definition of a scam would be to take your money and not provide you with the goods you exchanged the money for. You probably should look up the definition for that because this is NOT the case and you falsely claiming they are scamming is quite absurd.

Ugh, same problem. Tried to play SimCityDeluxe, which I have played for years on Origin, got the popup forcing me to switch. "Its Me not you" error. Spent 15 minutes on phone with an EA rep and they hung up on me on hold. The first time when I answered they just hung up. Regardless; I uninstalled EA and reinstalled Origin and my game once again worked. Until I restarted my computer and got the dreaded popup. This is ridiculous. I'm going to file a BBB complaint and encourage you all to do the same.
