- @EA_Leeuw This is very upsetting. I want to purchase the games for my friend for Christmas. Why isnt this an option?
@EA_Leeuw It's rubbish that you can't gift games. Especially when origin used to have it and it was removed. I thought EA liked money more than anything???

I would like to purchase expansion packs for Sims for my daughter and granddaughter. How do I do that now that Origin is no longer being used. How to we get EA to care about this feature and add it to the EA App?
Totally agree with anyone that it's ridiculous not to have a gifting feature for this game ten years on! For what it's worth it seems like you can buy game codes on Amazon with the same promos right now though. I can't imagine that EA is better off with Amazon taking a cut but there it is haha.
I love that this feedback has been acknowledged well over a year ago and there is still no gift option. Is there a way around this? Wanted to buy my partner a couple of expansion packs for Sims 4 and discovered I am unable to.

Hi @Ancheelah,
Origin for Windows is no longer available and is no longer supported. The EA app for Windows is indeed your go-to platform for PC EA games.
Unfortunately, at the moment, a Gifting feature is not available in the EA app. However, we appreciate your feedback about this matter.Well, I was going to buy my wife two sims expansions for christmas, but since it literally seems impossible without just buying it off amazon (which I never use), I'll just get her something else I guess. So weird that EA randomly decided to not let people buy things.. their loss I guess?

The only way around is to get them from third party sites such as Amazon, Steam ect. And Amazon is hit and miss on whether they participate in the EA sales. EA app really needs a gifting feature for those that cannot rely on third party sites. I also recommend sharing this thread with other gamer groups. EA support told me that the more 'me toos' a post gets, the quicker EA will look at it.

That is not a solution. That is a cop out.
So, EA Sims 4 Community, if someone has Sims4 on EA, but I buy them an expansion on Steam, can they still use it?
Steam supports gifting, EA doesn't, then Steam can a cut of the sales.

I'll add to the disappointment train.
I intended to do a giveaway of Command and Conquer The Ultimate Collection for the 30th Anniversary, but EA doesn't support it and some ........."troglodyte" at Steam decided to make it a Bundle of multiple products instead of one complete package thus it can not be gifted (despite being classed as a bundle, the games can't be purchased individually). 🤦♂️
Why this has to be so difficult in 2025 is beyond my comprehension, perhaps we should go back to physical only. 😜

I agree! It has been two years and gifting is still not an option 😡🤬
