uninstalled your app

downloaded one of your games on Game Pass. forced me to install the EA app. the app is super annoying and is default set to auto boot when I boot my pc. I'm sure there's a setting to fix this if I were to dig around in the settings, but honestly its just easier to uninstall the app altogether. pro tip: drop the EA app if you want to offer your games on other storefronts.

  • Hi @Sir-Plebous,

Thank you for your post & feedback.

Yes, similar to other software suites these days, the EA app auto-starts with Windows by default. However, there is an option to disable this feature in the app settings. You can find more details in this thread here.

    I hope this helps.

  • I am again adding my voice to that long going conversation (on multiple threads around the web):
Make the EA app optional... Maybe there are 5 people in the world who like it, but from what I read around the web, almost everybody hates it...

It brings NOTHING to the gaming experience, if we put aside problems, bugs, and frustration.

At least, make it optional on Steam or other stores if you care an ounce about your customers!

'Til then, I am not buying a single game from EA again... Every time I try to play, I have to fiddle for 15-20 minutes for my games to finally work. I don't have much time to play video games, so I don't have time to fiddle for issues that are not even related to the game itself (100% of my issues were with the stupid launcher not working, and blocking the game startup)

And remember, when people have trouble accessing your games the regular way, they will pirate it! EA will be the main cause of piracy of their own games!

    Good day

    Hi @Normand_Nadon22,

As you may have noticed in my previous response (and in various other discussions on our forums), the option is indeed optional and can be easily disabled in the settings of the EA app (as well as through Windows settings). Interestingly enough, when you install Steam, it also chooses to start up with Windows by default, but fear not! You can easily disable that feature in the settings too.

Regarding the last line of your reply, please keep in mind the following AHQ Guidelines:

    DON'TS TREATED WITH ZERO-TOLERANCE

    • Link to or discuss pirated and/or harmful content: Such as Trojan horses. That's not allowed and will result in account action.

Nevertheless, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! It is greatly appreciated!

However, to stop the thread from derailing any further, I will hereby lock the thread.
