Why does the EA app not have a Gift option?

Right and it's quite annoying. 

I love that this feedback has been acknowledged well over a year ago and there is still no gift option. Is there a way around this? Wanted to buy my partner a couple of expansion packs for Sims 4 and discovered I am unable to.

Well, I was going to buy my wife two sims expansions for christmas, but since it literally seems impossible without just buying it off amazon (which I never use), I'll just get her something else I guess. So weird that EA randomly decided to not let people buy things.. their loss I guess? 

The only way around is to get them from third party sites such as Amazon, Steam ect. And Amazon is hit and miss on whether they participate in the EA sales. EA app really needs a gifting feature for those that cannot rely on third party sites. I also recommend sharing this thread with other gamer groups. EA support told me that the more 'me toos' a post gets, the quicker EA will look at it.
