Cannot enable FPS counter

So on origin i could enable the FPS counter overlay in any EA games, but somehow i couldnt find the function in EA desktop, can i get some help from fellow soldiers please?

    Afaik this function is not implemented in EA Desktop yet.

    You however could use third party tools like Riva Tuner that comes with Afterburner or the tools that come from you GPU manufacture.

  • The EA app does not have ingame gameplay  FPS counter like the Origin app has in the settings option. It would be a nice feature to add to the EA app to monitor the framerate ingame.

  • Function has still not been implemented and today I was finally forced to install EA App. I was unable to play the game I play without installing. FPS counter is very important as its very discrete and doesnt obstruct my view

  • @uniquegamerfucIsn’t it great that we get a new app that has less functionality than the app it replaced? That runs a Background Service app that can only be turned off in task manager, the EA App won’t run of the background service is turned off. That is designed to promote and sell more than Origin ever did. I never thought I’d miss origin but I do now.
  • while in game hit the "`" key (that's the tilde key, under "Esc" key);
    a console will show;
    write "PerfOverlay.drawfps 1";
    if it is correct you will get "Win32 result:true", and the fps counter will show in the corner of your screen (for me it is in upper right)

    game on, have fun 🙂

  • EA Desktop (formerly known as Origin) does have an FPS counter overlay feature that you can enable in EA games. However, the exact method to enable it may vary depending on the specific game and the version of EA Desktop you are using.

    Here's a general guideline on how to enable the FPS counter overlay in EA Desktop:

    1. Launch EA Desktop: Open the EA Desktop client on your computer.

    2. Navigate to Game Library: Go to your game library, where you can see a list of your installed EA games.

    3. Select the Game: Choose the EA game for which you want to enable the FPS counter.

    4. Open Game Properties: Right-click on the game's cover image or name, and a context menu should appear. Look for an option like "Game Properties," "Game Settings," or "Configure."

    5. Enable FPS Counter: Inside the game's properties or settings, you should see an option related to the FPS counter or performance overlay. It may be labeled as "Enable FPS Counter" or something similar.

    6. Adjust Overlay Settings: Depending on the game and the EA Desktop version, you may have additional settings to configure the FPS counter, such as its position on the screen or the display of additional performance metrics.

    7. Save Changes: Once you've configured the FPS counter settings to your liking, save the changes and exit the game properties/settings.

    8. Launch the Game: Launch the EA game, and you should see the FPS counter overlay on the screen while playing.

    Please note that the exact location and wording of these options may vary, and the availability of the FPS counter overlay could depend on the specific game and the version of EA Desktop you are using. Be sure to check the in-game settings and EA Desktop settings to enable this feature.

    Additionally, since my information is based on the state of things as of September 2021, there may have been updates or changes to EA Desktop and its features. If you're having trouble finding the FPS counter overlay, I recommend checking the official EA Desktop or game-specific forums or support documentation for the most up-to-date instructions and troubleshooting assistance.
