Slow download speed in EA App
Hello, I have a 2 Gbit fiber connection internet, 2000 Mbit/s, which usually downloads games on Steam/Riot at a speed of 230-250 MegaBYTES per second. I installed EA App, ran it as administrator, and can not get it to download faster than 7MB/s (around 60Mbits per second). I tried all the mentioned solutions in other threads, forums, youtube videos, nothing helped. But an even bigger issue is this: The EA App actually throttles my internet connection as soon as it starts downloading. For example, in speed test I will do a test and it will be aforementioned 2000 Mbits/s However, as soon as I start the EA App download of Battlefield 1, my actual internet speed goes all the way down to 60-120 Mbit/s range! I can even start a speed test, it will hover around 2000 mbit, at the same time I start the download process, and in the test the speed falls all the way down. Something is very broken with the EA App because it hijacks the internet speed completely. What is going on?33Views0likes3CommentsIs there a way to force the EA app open in offline mode?

So as you all know EA had the greatest idea of replacing origin with EA Desktop and forcing us to use it. Some of us sneaky peekers have spotted a thing called EABackgroundService running when we start our computers without even opening the ea app and staying on even after we close the ea app. Fix below. How to stop it starting with our computers. In the app click the three lines in the top left corner Click settings. In the application part of settings. Disable Application updates, Open the ea app automatically on startup, Notifications and In-Game overlay. In the download part of settings. Disable update games automatically and enable background downloads. Once doing this exit the app fully. Press the windows key and type services and open services then find EABackgroundService Right click and go to properties of the EABackgroundService And set startup type to manual. Now to the part to stop the EABackgroundService from running after closing the ea app. Create a text file on your desktop and name it EADestroyer.bat now make sure you have file name extensions setting on. In that file add this. ECHO OFF ECHO Starting EA start /b /wait "" EADesktop.exe net stop EABackgroundService Open file explorer and navigate to where you installed the app. For me it's C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop In that folder drag and drop the bat file you created in there. On that bat right click and create shortcut now it will say it will have to put it on your desktop don't worry that's what we want. Right click the shortcut and press properties and change run from normal to minimised. If you want you can change the icon and the name of the shortcut. Make sure to remove the original ea app shortcut off your desktop. When ever you want to open the ea app use this shortcut that leads to the bat file. One issue is the bat file stays open until you close the ea app and it stops the background service there is no way around this. There you go you can game peacefully with you knowing ea can't spy on you. Perhaps this will get ea to fix this so called 'bug'26KViews8likes17CommentsGame license is invalid
Please stop deleting/moving my post and actually help me!!!!! When I try to run The Sims 4 game, I keep getting this message. "The app couldn't read the game's license file, so If the problem continues, try clearing your cache." I have been having this problem since the last EA App update. I can run other games with the app. It seems only The Sims 4 is affected. I have cleared the cache several times as suggested. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the EA App, as well as launching the EAUpdater.exe. I did the repair game option a couple of times. I have disabled my anti-virus and VPN. I have tried to find any solutions on the forum, but I have only seen other players posting about having the same problem, but not getting any answers or help. I have been playing The Sims since The Sims 1 was released. I was even a beta tester of Sims Online. I have spent so much time and money on this game and I feel like I'm just being left out in the cold. EA just wants my money, but can't be bothered to help when they break the game.2.8KViews9likes55CommentsCloud Saves for Mirror's Edge Catalyst?
I played Mirror's Edge Catalyst back in 2016 via Origin. As far as I know, Origin supported Cloud Saves for the game at the time. However, when I reinstalled the game this month, I noticed that my save was lost. I had to install the game via the new EA app, since Origin was disabled starting this month. I therefore have two questions now: Can I see somewhere whether the EA app is syncing my new save files? (i.e. Can I see whether the EA app supports cloud saves for Mirror's Edge Catalyst?) Can I somehow access my old save files after Origin was shut down? Btw, if EA really just deleted (or removed access to) some cloud saves without notice, I personally find it incredibly careless. If you do a migration which risks losing data from customers, you should mail every customer beforehand with instructions how they can download the data for themselves. For me, this incident just tells me that I cannot trust any EA services in the future.25Views0likes0CommentsSlow Download Speeds on EA app
So I downloaded the new EA desktop app when EA Play came to gamepass yesterday and I tried downloading NFS Heat. I was surprised to see the download speed was going from 400kb/s to 900kb/s. I checked on every other launcher like Epic Games, Steam and even on the xbox app/microsoft store and I was getting 6-10mb/s download speeds on those. Any solutions to fix EA's terrible download speeds. I can't find any anywhere because this app is only new.Solved137KViews23likes370CommentsHow do I play the Sims 4 offline with the EA app?
I have recently installed the EA app, as was recommended. Before with the Origin app I could choose the play offline, but now that is not possible anymore. My internet is currently down. I cannot open the Sims without opening the EA app, and the EA app does not work offline. Is there any way to solve this or to bypass the EA app?88KViews20likes54Comments
