Do I need Origin and EA Desktop at the same time?

Do I need Origin to have EA Desktop or vice-versa? or can I have one or another? I don't want two launchers with the exact same functions, it's dumb for me

You don't need to have both clients installed, you can have only one if you prefer. However, EA Desktop is still in beta, so there may be certain games or features that don't appear in that client that will show in Origin instead. If the games you play are fully supported through EA Desktop, then no need to use Origin as well.

  • The real answer is Yes, if an older games need origin, the EA beta app won’t work, but will try and uninstall origin. Because EA is in beta mode, will they eventually be able to replace the origin app, who knows?!?
