EA App Download speed drops dramatically after a few seconds or minutes of downloading BF6 files. Drops from 220MB/s to 7 to 8MB/s afterwards and stays there.
Somehow this error / issue seems to persists for YEARS and no one at EA can or wants to fix it. Ridiculous.
Steam downloads go 200-300MB/s for over 10 years without ANY issues.
The "help" joke about deleting cache or running in admin mode is intended to just deflect guilt and make users feel it is their fault. In reality this does not do anything and the issue is with EA and their servers.
Deleting cache extends the issue btw, as you have to restart the download again, which wills stall at 7mb/s again no matter what.
Can I transfer the game to Steam somehow? Bored of wasting hours to wait for a few GB of data download.
You are lucky you are even getting 8MB/s... Mine has gone from 50MB/s down to 8MB/s then drops to 5KB/s.
A 6GB update on any platform (Steam, Epic, Rockstar, Battle.net, ubisoftConnect) Does not require 2 - 5 hours of downloading and certainly doesn't throttle at 5KB/s without server intervention.
I have had to reset my network adapter to achieve above 1MB/s on a Gigabit Fibre connection. Tested on WiFi6+ & Ethernet - Using normal DNS settings and Google DNS. Tested using a VPN. Tested on 2 devices and even phone tethering.
Could you give us an explanation that isn't just repetitive/parroting the current "advice" on the help page?
Deleting the Cache - Results in deleting the downloaded files and setting your download back to 0% and may even make the speed issue worse.
Other applications - Other than a firewall there are no other applications that should run that would limit another's downloading bandwidth unless already downloading or streaming.
System File Checker - Really...?
Updating Windows/CPU/GPU - I'm not evening going to go there…
As a systems administrator/engineer some of the fixes you suggest are honestly insulting.
