Game Updates Atrociously Slow

This is the second time I've had an update for 2042 since getting the app, and it is an absolute chore. For a tiny update the app verifies, then downloads ridiculously slowly, then applies the update, which takes about 15 more minutes, then wants to verify the game atrociously slowly as well. On Origin this update would have been done an dusted in less than 15 minutes. So far, its taken over 2 hours just to get to this point. Why in the world are the updates so slow via the EA App? Its not even a big update either. Not only that, but it was lagging up my browser while downloading it, which Origin never did.
