if so
1, open the EA app on the desktop
2, click my collection
3, find the game you want to add shortcut to desktop and click the
3 dots in the top right corner of the tile
4, select view properties
5, under install location click browse
6. find the .exe of the game you want on the desktop and right click it
7,if on windows 11 click show more options (windows 10 and below) select "send to" then click desktop(create shortcut )

Manage on Steam
I went to Steam and there is an option in Settings/Manage/Add Desktop Shortcut, but it still didn't work.

If you bring up Task Manager (ctrl + alt + del), and then start The Sims, you can find it in the list of processes. Right-click on "The SimsTM 4" and select "Open File Location." That will bring you to "TS4_x64.exe" which you can again right-click on, and then you can hit "Create Shortcut" and drop that onto your desktop; or you can select "Pin To Start," which is what I did, and that worked for me to go directly into loading the game instead of having to meander through the EA app first (at long last). It does still open the EA app, but it shifts into The Sims on its own shortly thereafter without you having to do anything else.
