Is EACefSubProcess.exe malware or is it part of the EA app?

So I was playing the Sims 3 today. I normally keep an eye on how much ram is it using and found it was using over 3GB of ram so I closed it down and restarted it via the EA app. I got distracted by real life and came back 2 hours later to discover the EA app had crashed and the sims 3 launcher wouldn't run without it. I restarted the EA app and started the Sims 3 again. The EA app minimized itself and I switched to task manager where I noticed that was using about 50% of the CPU. It started out using about 250 MB of ram, that kept growing until it was using 1.5 GB of ram (1.5 times more than my actual game was using at that stage) I used the task manager to shut down the EA app and EACefSubProcess.exe.

EACefSubProcess.exe bloating out like that might explain why the EA app crashed but I also worried that it might be malware.
