Option for ea wallet is not in my acc., can't redeem my gift card code

I received a gift card but I can't use it and pay for a game with it because I can't redeem the code, neither in the EA app, nor the webpage. Option for EA wallet is not in my account. If I try to redeem it in the app this sign pops up all the time: The product code you entered is not valid. Please re-enter the code.
