Re: Is there a way to force the EA app open in offline mode?

Good news!

After being forced to download the EA app in order to play Sims 3(a game which predates even Origin) I logged in, closed the app and tried to load the app without internet. One failed attempt, resulted in the app telling me to log in online first with "keep me logged in" checked. Funny since I had already checked this on my first log in. Still I tried logging in, logging back out, ensuring the box was checked and logging in online once more before finally closing the app, turning on airplane mode and successfully logging in WITHOUT internet.

It would have saved us all a lot of stress however if someone from EA had come to this thread to let us know we could in fact do this. I was quite honestly set to boycott any future EA purchases over this. After all, I shouldn't pay for offline games which I cannot actually play offline. Requiring any kind of secondary program or launcher for an offline game is irritating enough.

Glad that it is up and running offline now however and wanted to stop by to let others know since I was clearly not the only one stressing over this. It will load offline, you simply may need to log in and out online a few times first with the "keep me logged in" box checked.

@xKindredxSoulsx Why did they say the EA app could be used offline in this thread previously? If you try it just tells you to restart in online mode with no other option. Literally lying to our faces

Also would love to have a start in offline mode, don't mind logging in initially but I use a mobile gaming PC "Steam Deck" to play games on the go and most the time I have no Wifi connection that prevents me from playing EA games at all due to now being forced to log in every time despite an offline mode being there after log in
Maybe something like steam's offline mode that lets you do most stuff just not online stuff
Once in offline mode restarting the app remains in offline mode until you tell it otherwise, that you would do to buy more games or update your trophy records to your account that still record while in offline mode
Please fix this it's stopping me from playing alot of games at the moment

They previously stated there was an offline mode, not that you could log in offline. I am saying that I have found both options to be functioning in my case, hopefully in others. Offline mode is limited and only gives you access to games that can be played in offline mode and literally nothing else, but it is present. As I stated in my previous post, selecting "keep me logged in" on the sign in screen allows you to log in offline, but you may have to log in and out a few times before it works.

I was able to play in offline mode, but the frustrating thing is that when I choose to put EA app in offline mode it keeps trying to constantly log me in. So after 2-3 hours of offline play EA app will force itself closed saying there was a problem and I have to sign in again which is really frustrating because then I'm forced to close out of my game and reopen EA app just to login and then go into offline mode again. I've even tried to uncheck the keep me logged in button but the app will still try to force me to login even when I'm choosing to be in offline mode, I've never seen such a stupid thing on an app before.

Ayup - no internet so figured I'd fire up DAO and the stupid app won't let it load. Tried several ways to launch the game without the app but whatever EA did to force it through their wrapper prevents this from happening. I don't think anyone at EA has ever played a game before.
This thread says solved but it really isn't - has EA ever come back with a response on this topic or posted a road map of when it will or ... ? Where's a customer satisfaction survey when you need one.
