Hey all, going forward you will need to use the EA app to play your EA games.
Please follow the steps to install the EA app to continue playing.
Darko Doesnt work. Says account cant be found on everything.
I have tried everything
clear cahce
delete origins folders
was even marked fixed by a customer support after i restarted my PC and now it tells me to call on the phojne?
this is absurd.
Who is dumb enough to make a video game launcher where you cannot invite your friends to your game. About the dumbest thing ever. Befpre release you shouldve considered that, including all the mods and stuff people use to try and create a way that makes them compatible with the new launcher.
@EA_Darko You aren't listening. The reason everyone here wants to go back to Origin in the first place is because THE EA APP IS BROKEN. The EA App is, by its own admission, still a BETA project and it shows. It clearly isn't ready to replace Origin. A number of games linked to peoples accounts DO NOT WORK. I can't play Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order because I keep getting an error from the EA App saying a problem occurred on the launcher and to try it again later, but it never works! FIX THIS HORRIBLE APP, LET US USE ORIGIN AGAIN, or better still, GET RID OF YOUR DRM.
The problem is we can't continue playing because the EA launcher doesn't work. Every game I try to load gives the 500 error "mysterious error encountered, try again later". After uninstalling, redownloading and reinstalling the launcher, it shows the games as not downloaded, but when trying to download it starts the download but never moves past "processing", literally for hours. This launcher is very broken. Please fix this.

Day #3 I'm still not able to login to the new EA App that replaced Origin. I can't even just go back to just using Origin. I'm starting to lose my patience with EA. Every time they they've done something, something else gets messed up. Please fix this, as the weekend is almost over and still I haven't been able to go on game. This is what I get every time I try and login with EA App.

Well I don't know if it were this or that, but last night I was finally able get on game. No more complaints from this EA gamer mom🙂
Eventually I got it working.
it took me 4 installation attempts , used Lutris, and some Linux voodoo that I cant even remember now - I just compared installation files - and then did some copypasta - it eventually worked after 3 hours frustration, thanks EA....I figured others would have an issue too ....funny how it seemed just to affect those of us on the night. . . .
It does NOT work Drako !
Are you a bot ?
- @EA_Darko the. app. doesn't. work.
Except the app you're forcing onto us does not work. I cannot play the games i paid for due to an ongoing issue that has been reported in multiple threads over months and months of no changes. The EA App cannot launch my games and consistently fails, saying its a fault on their end. Every attempt to solve this was fruitless and at the end of the day I cannot even use Origin, the only way i was able to use the game i purchased, because its apparently necessary to FORCE users to install this trash.
- @EA_Darko - No, I have signed nothing that allows you to block access to games I have previously paid for and are already on my system, I did not authorize you to attempt to force your buggy BETA programming on me. Glad I know to never buy games on your platform again, I'll be sure to never pay for your products again.
i cant even play anything on EA Play Pro because of this the app is not working properly EA do something or im done playing your dam games. i cant play on your dam EA desktop so fix it!!!!!
You can only polish * so much. Time to abandon this one and go back to origin
Agreed, time to stop pretending the EA App will somehow fix itself, and just let people use the Origin Login that works.
Tick, Tock, the clock is ticking and people are getting mightily annoyed the longer they are locked out from their PAID FOR CONTENT because EA wants to play with a new toy that nobody wants.@snip3r49cant they let us use Origin istead of coerce evryone into using their crappy app like cowardly psychos?
- @EA_Darko no. the app doesn't work and i wont use it. If you update Origin and remove the pop up window coercing you into using a different, non-functional app that doesn't allow access to ALREADY PAID content-- maybe then i will consider using your "EA app"
That app should be a choice, not force, I should be allowed to play my games, not be forced into an app that doesn't work. Hundreds of people can't get their games to work when they use the EA App, but Origin STILL works, what's the point in all of this??
The EA App hasn't let me play a single game in over a week. I have tried over 30 "fixes" and nothing works. 2 days ago all of my games worked on Origin. I, like so many others, am giving up on EA until Origin is restored.

Hey all, if seeing issues with games not working and the like then this generally points to a system issue.
What system troubleshooting have you all tried?
Darko On this Thread there is a solution:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/How-do-I-bypass-the-EA-App-and-access-Origin-to-play-games/td-p/12121303/jump-to/first-unread-messageTo summarise, you firstly need to go to File Manager, and under the View option, tick the box that allows you to see Hidden Files.
Then go to your C:\ Drive, and then you will see the following Folder:
C:\ProgramData\In that you'll see an Origin Folder, open that.
C:\ProgramData\Origin\
In there you will see this File:local.xml
C:\ProgramData\Origin\local.xml
Save a copy of that, just in case, so you can put it back if needed.
Now open that File with, say, Notepad, and add the following Key just above the last line:
<Setting key="MigrationDisabled" type="1" value="true" />
Save that.Go to View and un-tick the option to view Hidden Files.
Then when you launch Origin or a Game, the EA App pop up from the Origin Login, should be gone.
Worked for me.thanks, work for me
As @speedracer523 on another Thread has also pointed out, the XML File could potentially be changed back if the upgrade push does that.
Below are his comments (in blue), that I think are worth repeating here:"...this is the missing key to the puzzle
by blocking api1 you do no remove the setting* from the xml, but since I restored mine, it never shows!
I assume if the Api1 is not blocked and ea pushed a 'removal' of the migration, the xml will be updated.
the...
api1.origin.com
is the domain it uses to check for updates, which also happens to be how it fetches data to write to the xml.
*-presumably another setting to show it or disabled set to false and hence, it shows it."
Hope that also helps.
Thank you for this
If I actually had to use that dog poo EA App to play Mass Effect again, I'd never touch an EA product.
