I get that people are unable to play their games due to this garbage EA client. And, my solution was to continue using the Origin client. Lots of people have had success with it and some are still running into issues. My suggestion is to go into the EA client, change it's settings to install games to the original installation directory of the Origin client.....the \Origin Games\ folder. Then just uninstall that crapware EA client altogether. Download the last good working Origin client <which I've linked before...but, it's easy to find on TechSpot...hint hint> and go through the process of installing it, adding the code line into the local.xml....etc. But, if you want to be sure it can't update during this process...disconnect from the internet first untill you've finished the whole process......as was posted earlier in this thread.
Once you have it up and running with the fixes applied, you can connect online again but, DO NOT let Origin client update!! You may need to continue double checking that local.xml to be sure the 'migration disabled = True / 1' stays in the file AND delete those instances of the file 'OriginThinSetupInternal.exe' prior to launching the client. And, if you get a popup about upgrading to EA client......abort that chit. Close out Origin client....double check the file is good still and re-delete those exe's. Then re-launch Origin. They're going to keep trying to force us out of the Origin client so, stay on your toes.
