RESOLVED Outage May 22nd, 2024. "Games have been removed from your library" Message in EA app


Hi all,

We are seeing RECOVERY of the temporary problem which started on May 22nd at 8 am UTC, which was unintentionally impacting some users, causing them to see the message *"Games have been removed from your library" or *"You don't have access" error on the EA app more frequently than expected.

Recent reports in this forum thread seem to confirm this trend. Thank you for reporting this to us!

If you continue to experience the issue, please perform an EA app App Recovery (clear cache) by following the steps here, or reboot the client or machine.

  • Still empty library but they already marked it as resolved.

    I should try this at work also 👿

  • This problem is not resolved for me, tried:

    • Clearing cache multiple times
    • Repairing app
    • Complete uninstall/reinstall app
    • Reboot of PC
    • Running app as administrator

    Still cannot view any games in my library

    +1    5 days and still nothing.... I finally delete the app , i can play apex in steam but other games r.i.p

  • Problem solved here!

    Whitelisting the domain "sdk.split.io" on my routers adblocking feature, solved the "game has been removed for an unlisted reason" problem.

    All the games and addons are back, and everything works without any use of vpn.

    Btw, im using the DumaOS ads and trackinglists, and the StevenBlack list used in Pi-Hole.

    It's almost going to be 2 months now and I still don't have my games back. WTF! How much longer do we have to wait if you are even fixing the problem at all.

    Since the NFS Unbound Vol.7 launch, or around that time I'm also getting a popup that says loads of stuff has been removed, including NFS Unbound, which I bought on steam.

    It's also saying NFS2015 and NFS Payback have been removed due to the sub ending on steam. I think I just need to redownload them from the EA app to reconfirm those but the NFS Unbound one has me puzzled. 

    I'm also having a tough time launching NFS unbound at all. I have to reinstall it to get it to launch once. But this is probably a separate issue. 

  • I have repeatedly posted here already. The latest development is that someone from EA Customer Experience told me that this is a known problem that has been fixed. 

    Well, guess what. It ain't fixed.

    And yes, I already did this "clean cache", log out, sign back in, restart computer several times. The whole thing is becoming more than annoying. 

    @EA Customer Experience: You are aware that there are competitors out there (GoG, Steam, Epic, Ubisoft...)? Please get this fixed now.

  • I do not really understand why a VPN should matter. I never use a VPN when playing games. I do not even play online (except Diablo III), only single player games.

    Maybe it would be helpful if people post here which games or DLC is affected. In my case, several Battlefield Hardline DLCs have been removed for instance. I obtained all four big DLC packs from BF Hardline but now I only have the base game left. Interestingly, those DLC packs were free giveaways back from a couple of years when Origin still had giveaways every month. Maybe that is a connection to the problem?

  • The latest update in this episode is: Now the EA support is simply claiming that the games and DLC were removed due to subscription expiry. This, however, is a blatant lie. I have not made a Origin or EA subscription in the past. I always bought the games or obtained them during the free origin weeks. For instance, the dlc to battlefield hardline was grabbed while it was free of charge. Now those have been removed. And this is just one example.

    @disgustingnoob yup, my games are still gone and I never subscribed to EA Play before. I still own the games on Steam but I can't play it because the EA App says I don't have access. My games are gone for 2 months now, when issues like this should be fixed in few days or a week.
  • Thanks for the update! Glad to hear the issue is being resolved. I was affected by this and it's good to see recovery. For those still facing problems, clearing the cache or rebooting the app should help. Appreciate the quick response, EA team!

    Funny that you think this issue is being resolved and was a quick response?  Problems starting showing in March, 4 months ago, and the solution is temporary, I find myself having to reset my cache every 2 days, because games keep getting removed.  There is no response to say that anyone is working to fix this permanently, so no, they're not doing a great job.

    i got 6 games removed yeah im just done with ea games they can keep ther games never buying from them again

  • And it happened again! 5 times now you've removed 9 games and multiple DLCs from my account.  I don't know why I'm expecting a permanent fix to this, I've seen your response times to problems in the past.  Yeah, I'm with HunterHx, I've had enough of your 'service'.

  • Hellooo?... It's not a fix, not even a Temporary! Why can't you fix it, it's been 3 months?! Do you not want to address the issue your customers are having? What's this? A middle finger to all of us for you to keep ignoring the problem?
