Why am I getting forced to install EA App?
every time i open origin it softlocks me into a window that suggests to install ea app. now i thought okay its forcing me to install this must be a good reason but no. i log in with the right account...

I’m also getting forced to use the EA app instead of Origins and I’m unable to launch Red Alert 2 (which I’ve paid for) on the new EA app that I worked on for hours to get to run great through Origins on my Steam Deck.
I tried the above steps but I’m unable to get this to work on my steam deck. Im running Origins through Lutris and I’m able to find the above files but when I follow the steps, I still get the prompt to download the new crappy app.
I’ve been opening the .xml file using KWrite and going down to the bottom and inputting the text exactly like it is typed and saved. I’m not seeing the show hidden files in this program but I have hidden files showing in all my folders and documents.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have the same issue because of an origin update. I had the xml change route working, but it no longer does after the update. From looking into the previous fix and the xml file when launching, it seems like origin is either resetting the xml file, or more likely completely replacing it with a new unaltered xml file (since the file shows no previous versions once origin has been opened).
