Why am I getting forced to install EA App?
every time i open origin it softlocks me into a window that suggests to install ea app. now i thought okay its forcing me to install this must be a good reason but no. i log in with the right account...

I have the same issue because of an origin update. I had the xml change route working, but it no longer does after the update. From looking into the previous fix and the xml file when launching, it seems like origin is either resetting the xml file, or more likely completely replacing it with a new unaltered xml file (since the file shows no previous versions once origin has been opened).
setting the xml to read-only keeps the workaround there but origin still forces the migration so their patch is elsewhere now.
