Why why why why why are you forcing us to use an EA app. Why can't we use both? It is seriously unstable. I have several EA games - for example three of them are Alice: Madness Returns, Sims 3, and Sims 4. I have EA Play on my Steam account. Sims 4 will play from Steam and EA including all packs and my custom content. Alice plays through Steam amd EA. (I have not tried any of the 12 other games I have through Origin.)
Now we come to Sims 3. It only shows up on EA app - not Steam. In the app it says I only own the base game and maybe one other expansion. If I run it from the EA App, I get the launcher info which says I own ALL the expansions/packs. BUT, the game won't start. I have tried the DX 9 install, no luck (I have Win11, i7-12700KF, NVidia 3080). So, I moved my old store-bought downloads out and into another folder and cleaned out the cache, downloads, worlds folders (my store bought worlds were missing anyway). I repaired the game through the EA app - still nothing.
So then I come across something about downloading Origin again. After doing so, it is FORCING me to upgrade to the useless EA app. We were told that the Origin app would still be available. We were told that you would patch the EA App so that Sims 3 would work - nothing works. I buy very few games through EA (12 in 20 years versus 250+ in Steam) because other than a few gems, they really are not that great. And the ones that are good are the old ones.
I want what you promised from the beginning - Origin continuing to work.
They won't allow people to use both for a couple of reasons. One being you can set Origin to go straight to your library. They want you to see their store first in the hopes that something catches your eye and they make a sale.
Second is likely that reenabling access to Origin wouldn't look good to their bosses or their investors. They only care about their customers wallets and they couldn't give a damn if some people lose access to games.

If that were true, then they'd restore game libraries, now myself and others who are missing the games that we already payed for, will not buy another EA game. lol They are losing customers now- 2 years ago
@RohirrimKing92 They don't have to restore the libraries because they already have those people's money.
It's sad to say but a few people losing access to their games and not buying in the future is a drop in the ocean of cash they get from the countless Ultimate Team sales.
Monetarily this doesn't matter to EA. All that will do anything is if they start to get bad press. People don't just need to post here, they need to start getting the attention of the gaming press because bad PR is something EA will pay attention to.

Money that was already spent, years ago, now they will have no return business. The whole 'drop in the ocean' thing is illogical, it means losing money when they don't have to, for an app that doesn't work.
