Why can't I uninstall EA Desktop?

I decided to switch to Origin to play Battlefield 2042 because that's what steam said to do. I can't open Origin now though, because it says that EA desktop is running and needs to be closed out. I physically can't uninstall EA because, for some reason, it says that the program is still running. I tried CCleaner and Just the Windows uninstaller, but both bring up the EA tab saying that the program can't be uninstalled because the program is currently running. Any solutions to this problem? I spent 60 dollars for this game on Steam, and now I can't play because I can't install origin. Help Appreciated!

    Hello @Mr_Platypus69420,

    EA games through Steam can currently only be played through Origin. 

    If you're seeing the issue that the EA app is still running, then please go to Task Manager and end the task for the EA background services. That should do the trick.

    This is on the older side of time, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

    We added Steam and Epic games support for EA app at the end fo 2022.
