Why doesn't EA Desktop remember my username or password?

When launching EA Desktop, under "Sign in with your EA Account", there is a "Phone or Email" and "Password" box, and a checkbox that says "Keep me signed in".   Should this keep my user and pass from the last time I signed in?

I find myself having to type my email/password into this screen every few days.   No one else uses my PC, and I'm not logging out of anything (other than rebooting).

Also the email and password boxes do not have a right click option, which I'm used to doing so I can paste text from my password manager.   I have found that CTRL+V still works though.

Having it remember my user/pass would be ideal.   Having it connect to my password manager (LastPass) like Edge/Chrome would be second best.   Having it at least remember my username would be third best (or suggest an email when I start typing).    Right click option would be the least helpful since there is a workaround (only slightly aggravating when I forget)

Regards,

Vince

P.S. what the heck why can't I use the letters * those two letters + "MEMBER ME" and it kept wiping it out

It used to keep the login info just like ALL the other apps. It now in 2023 is still having issues remembering and retaining the information. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't. It is really a pain and usually, I just close it! EA needs to fix their crap software, or people will just buy games on other apps that work and value their customers!

  • I have the same issue that I often have to keep copying/pasting my email and password into the sign in screen even though I have ticked "Keep me signed in". Half the time it remembers, half it doesn't. It is annoying.

Does EA ever read these comments or respond to them, or is this site a total waste of time?

    "Security Measures?"

Does EA or any OTHER software company think that computers are being stolen left and right and having their login data extracted?

I have been having the same problem for a month now.

Repairing the EA app, granting admin rights, etc. did not solve the problem.

However, today I was able to solve this problem!
(Not sure if others also solve that problem with this procedure)

    1) Launch your browser and sign in to the EA site.
    2) Open your account settings.
    3) Open the "Security" tab and switch to "Login Vertification".
    4) (Omit the verification procedure when making the change.)
    5) Restore "Login Vertification" Setting.
    6) Sign in with the EA app.

Now the problem does not occur on my device.
If you have not solved the problem by repairing EA app, etc., please try it.

Possible solution that suddenly fixed my EA app problem (remembering credentials)

Step 1: Connect your phone with your computer instead of using wifi or ethernet cable. Start USB tethering on your phone. (Not over wifi btw, use 4G or 5G connection so you have a different IP Adress.
Step 2: Open EA App. Give in your credentials. Once logged in, play a game in your catalog. After playing a match or instance that needs to be saved close the game, close EA app.

    Step 3: Disconnect your phone.
    Step 4: Restart Windows.
Step 5: Open EA app and see if you need to give in credentials. In my case i didn't have to anymore all of a sudden after months of typing them.
