Linked my Steam account to the wrong EA account by mistake

I attempted to redeem my Battlefield 6 gift for Nvidia cards and, during the process, reassigned my Steam profile to a different EA account, not realizing that all game progression is linked to the EA account rather than the Steam account. As a result, all the progress I invested significant time into is now gone, and I’m unable to relink my original account due to the enforced six-month waiting period.

I reached out to the support team and am fully prepared to provide any verification needed to confirm ownership of both accounts, but I was informed that the policy does not allow any changes before the six months have passed.

At this point, I am genuinely considering quitting the game entirely, as restarting from scratch after so many hours of progression feels unreasonable, especially when the issue stems from a mistake I made as a customer that cannot be corrected due to some internal policies of EA. I sincerely hope there is still a way to restore my original account link before the 6-month period, otherwise I will have to abandon a game I paid for and truly enjoyed before this happened. The situation is extremely discouraging and has caused a great deal of frustration, as time is the most valuable resource, and investing it in something that is so easily lost seems just unfair.

  • It’s such a frustrating system that you can only link your account again after six months... I wish EA support could fix this issue - it’s definitely their responsibility. It’s hard to believe they don’t care about gamers’ progression and haven’t implemented proper data transfer. I hope your problem gets sorted, mate! Otherwise, if I were you, I’d do the same - just drop the game and leave reviews everywhere.
