Account deleted with Sims 3 Codes
In a recent wave of nostalgia (and zero motivation to touch The Sims 4), I wanted to revisit The Sims 3. Since I built a new PC and no longer have a disc drive, I recovered all my original CD keys from the Windows registry of my old SSD, where the game was originally installed.
I successfully redeemed 7 out of 10 codes in the EA App — all were accepted without error (see attached screenshots). However, none of the games appeared in my library, including the base game.
I contacted EA Support, expecting a sync issue or minor technical problem. Instead, I was told that the games were linked to my old EA account, which has supposedly been deleted, and therefore my purchases (worth over €300 at the time) are gone forever. They claimed nothing could be restored, transferred, or compensated — not even though I own the original keys, have system traces from Origin, and proof of activation.
Is this seriously EA’s position now? That if your account becomes inactive long enough, you lose your games — permanently?
This feels like digital theft, not just bad support. I’m not asking for miracles — just access to games I legally purchased, and which your own system confirms were accepted and linked.
Is there anyone at EA who can actually help, or is the official policy now "too bad, your content is gone"?
