I'm experiencing a persistent issue with the EA app on macOS where the app fails immediately on launch during "connecting to app", before authentication completes. Error code 10005 pops up immediately. This has been going on for over a year(I just miss playing the Sims 😅)
Ive tried all the known troubleshooting- uninstall/restart/install. Clearing all cache. Resetting macOS permissions/background items. Confirmed EA background service is running. Tested on multiple networks, including my neighbors and mobile hotspot. Disabled firewall/VPN.
This fails before authentication completes, so it does not appear to be a local cache or network issue. EA support has finally confirmed this appears to be a technical bug and has logged it internally.
