3 horizontal bars top left of EA App, -- click on it.
then you see menu / About , click on that
Just randomly started working. Launched the game as usual and it worked. Although I did have to say which save I wanted to go with because apparently there was a save data clash. Sadly I don't know what to tell people. I did uninstall razer synapse which may have been the issue.

dxdiag was attached... no matter what i do... even a full CLEAN install of windows 10 and nothing....
got EA app installed version 12.38.0-5295-45dc5abae
Nothing i do fixes this...
Game some times works... others no!
Its not a problem in the client side because I CAN'T LAUNCH ANY GAME from EA Desktop...
Learn to properly fix the program.... its a joke like Origin....Sent a report via EA Desktop with the id:

Apologies for the delayed reply on this.
We saw a similar report over on the Battlefield V board, where another player shared a potential solution for this. Would you be able to try the steps they shared in their thread to see if it helps in your case? I've linked their post below:

My game also didnt start .My solution was to download it to the suggested location. First I tried to install it to M.2 and then to the normal SSD which had windows on and it worked.
It started instant.

anyone found a fix to this because it just happened to me. i click on 2042, it opens ea for 2 seconds and closes. i go to the ea app and it doesn’t say anything about it, i jus updated my drivers and reinstalled ea and it still won’t work.
Yeah, having the same issue. Thought it was an issue with EAC, repairing it didn't do nothing. I think the patch update did something.
i just fix mine, log in to ea louncher and start the game from there

I tried this method and it didn't work either. (please see attached CMD screenshot showing port exclusion)
I have done everything within this forums suggested fixes, it has been a long tedious and disappointing process.
These are the error codes that i have extracted from my logs folder (C:\ProgramData\EA Desktop\Logs).
I have exhausted all options and can go no further with this, would really appreciate some more educated help

That is the line of code that is causing dramas and i don't know what amendments that i need make to fix it.

My game was working last night, now today it won't launch. Here's my bug report
It's very similar to what @mwilson2111 described, and I'm seeing the same messages in my EA logs:

same problem here. i have the latest EA APP and starting BF2042 from steam starts the app but not the game. This is not the first time either. seems to happen regularly. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it but nothing fixed. OMFG - this APP has one * job - allow games to start. We have paid for these games, you have our money but we cant play them

This is not a fix in my opinion, but it worked for me as well.
Just so happens that I uninstalled from my M.2 and reinstalled on a SSD, and the game works again.
The problem is also being tracked in this thread.
same. I want a refund. literally can't use this crap and its been years now. unacceptable
