Re: Battlefield 2042 not launching after switching to EA app (Steam & Epic)

No error message. Launch from Steam. EA app opens, I select the game and "run". EA app closes and then opens again and nothing else happens.

The exact same thing is happening to me. I have the game on epic games. When I launch the game, epic games and the origins app both open but nothing happens. The epic games launcher shows that battlefield 2042 is running but it isn't. Sometimes the origins app closes and opens again but the game won't launch. I'm also not receiving any error messages. 

I'm having the same problem, and did all the solution I could find here or anywhere else over the internet. but nothing fixes the issue.
this thing started happening almost a week prior to the 3.2 update, without anything being changed on my system. just one day it happened and never got fixed.

My solution was that i turned off game launch as administor in game files 2042.exe same anticheat.. game is working now 💪🏻

This is exactly my problem.  Click play on Steam, even if EA app is open it reloads itself, and thats it no game pops up, both 2042 and BFV.

I've tried the

No run as admin on exe both game and EAC, tried the digital signature thing, reinstalled the game, did the EA App recovery, reinstalled EAC and updated it, updated windows, tried origin again... 

This is a problem from like 15-20 yrs ago, how the hell in this day in age we are dealing with something so stupid to just play a game we bought...  

Just an update, my game is finally launching and I'm able to play.

I think an important portion of this is that you open the EADesktop not the EALauncher. 

So, today I received a notice that my Nvidia display software had an update.  I did that, restarted the machine and BF 2042 actually runs now.  I hope this is successful for other users too.  Two years though, it looks really good.  Keep working on this title, get it running and you'll salvage this franchise.

Nope...still does not work for me.  Desktop goes away and then comes back...no game launch.  Tired of this crap...so typical of EA crap games.  Now that they ended the Origin app I have zero access to BF2042.  At least with it, I could get it to run if I loaded Origin as admin.  Time to call a class action specialist.

did ya try to reinstall EAC ?
navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86) , in this folder you will see EasyAntiCheat folder.
Rename/delete the EasyAntiCheat folder, now navigate to the installation
folder of BF2042.
In this BF2042 you will see the \EasyAntiCheat folder.
In this folder is a file with name EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe.
Right click at this file and select to RUN AS ADMIN !!!
Install/repair EAC , reboot computer , now test game again.

Update us please !

ps delete the EasyAntiCheat folder at C:\Users\>YOURE USERNAME<\AppData\Roaming\

No, that did not help. 

I had no problems running 2042 through origin, if i ran it as admin and ran 2042 as admin. Tonight i was forces to install the ea launcher, now i get this message "your game failed to launch - an error on our end caused your launch to fail. try again a little later"....

What kind of  message is this? Why are we being forced to use a launcher that does not work, now being denied access to a game we paid for???? How can one company shi**on their player base so repeatedly? Im so done buying anything from this fail company ever again... 

what do you mean by "any other platform" Like steam or Epic Game Launcher? or just the crap from EA? I mean, EA cannot demand that their launcher is the only one running on the pc, for me to play their game ?

It has been found that in many of these cases, the cause of the problem is that some players own (and have installed) multiple copies of the game through different launchers, causing problems. This is a solution for that:

• Uninstall all BF2042 installations (especially the ones installed through Origin or the EA app),
• Reboot the PC,
• Install & launch BF2042 through Steam or Epic,
  • It's important that the games bought from Steam are installed through Steam and launched from Steam for the first time.

Make sure that you have the right permissions to launch the EA app and your games
If you don't have multiple copies of the game through different launchers, but are still unable to launch the game, it's possible that your current local Windows account doesn't have the proper permissions to run the game (and its Easy Anti-Cheat).

This problem can in many cases be solved by making sure you install and launch the EA app, game and/or Easy Anti-Cheat with Administrator privileges. It is also advisable to make sure that your local Windows account generally has the right permissions, you can check this in the following way: UAC in Windows.

Hello EA team,

I want to confirm that my issue is not resolved. I uninstalled Battlefield and EA app again (went through and deleted all folders and configuration data as well). Then I restarted the computer, installed the EA app, then installed Battlefield via Steam. No change in behavior (no error, just nothing happens after Easy anti-cheat window).

I then went through and gave Admin privilege to all Easy Anti-Cheat. EA app, Steam, and Battlefield .exes. No change.

The new season of Battlefield comes out tomorrow, so I would really like to play. I had ZERO issues while Origin worked, so it's obviously this app that's interfering. There's still no errors or hint as to what the problem. Please advise - I will be available for a screenshare tomorrow US time if needed.
