Re: Battlefield 2042 not launching after switching to EA app (Steam & Epic)

The error "Your game failed to launch. An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a a little later," has come back after it seemed to be resolved with the latest update last week. However while in the past you could eventually get the game to run after several attempts, now it does not seem to boot at all. Is EA aware of this and how will it be resolved?

This problem has been a feature of EA BF2042 for a long time. Apart from the frustration and time of trying to fix all the suspected problems, the solutions inevitably run back to EA getting their roll-out working properly.  It’s about time to stop blaming the consumer for EA’s poor knowledge of its own systems.  After a complete re-instal of Windows 11, a cleanup of all my drives, three downloads and trying several other suggested solutions, I found that EasyAntiCheat was the problem as the version downloaded from EA was out of date.  The latest version was downloaded directly from the EasyAntiCheat website and the game started.  So the version from EA must have been corrupted or the digital certificates out of date.  No amount of game repairs would have fixed this problem. Not saying this is the problem for all consumers but it worked for me.  Hopefully this info will save some other poor soul from the frustrating torment and expense of trying to fix something that was EA’s oversight or mistake. The solution was found on the EasyAntiCheat support page but was one of many suggested solutions listed there. Trying each one was very time consuming and frustrating.

I would also like to second this statement and the EAC fix

Other issues for those that I have found to effect the game launching through steam are

    -DS4windows(MOST RECEN ISSUES)

-razer apps(yeah all of them have caused me issues in the past)

    -soundPad

    -spotify

    -GOG

if you have any of these installed and enabled in the start up in your task manager then disable them one by one and restart your PC, if that doesn't work then it will definitely be the outdated EAC, EAC is simple to download and install from their website 👍
