Re: cant install sims 4 on EA app

Hey there @gothboy_23,

It sounds like you have a program blocking the download, let's try the following steps to get this cleared up for you:

  • Open task manager, locate EA Background Service, and end task
  • Clear the cache for the EA app
  • Run the EA app as an administrator 
  • Check for any background applications blocking the EA App
  • Try lowering your User Access Control Settings:
    • Close the EA app
    • Click the Windows button and type "UAC" in the search field
    • In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest setting available
    • Click Okay the bottom of the window
    • Open the EA app client and try starting the download again

    it still didnt work. do you know any specific background applications causing this because i ended the task of a lot of them most were just the important stuff to keep the pc running.

    @gothboy_23 

    It's usually an issue with an anti-virus or firewall, have you checked that the EA app has been added as an exception to any anti-virus or firewall that you use?

    I don’t have a anti- virus and I turned off the firewall like two years ago.

    You can also try a clean boot on your PC to see if you're able to get The Sims installed then.

    Please be sure to follow these steps very carefully, specifically step 4 in that article:

    "Check the box to Hide all Microsoft Services, then click the Disable all button to the right."

    @EA_Solaire none of your suggestions are working. You have hundreds if not thousands of complaints of the same issues. Something is clearly wrong on the apps end. Please get us news on when we can expect a fix ASAP because we paid for a service that your company is not providing. Thank you.

    Right!!! thats what i was saying because i've contact EA multiple times and they told me to contact Microsoft about it I contacted them twice about this issue ,they tried to figure out the problem turns out it was an issue with the EA App so they told me to contact EA again because Microsoft said this is a problem on THEIR hands it's not us its the app i keep telling them that and they are not fixing it.. its been 4 WEEKS NOW ITS FRIDAY AND I STILL CANT PLAY ANY GAME ON THE EA APP!!!!!!!

    excuse me? can you all please do something about this I shouldnt have this problem for 4 weeks because its been 4 weeks and im extremely pissed off and frustrated because ive spent money on this for it to not to work. Ive contacted microsoft they have told me this is a problem on EA's hand meanings its not me its you all so please dont make it seem like its my computer its not me it's the EA company/app whatever the hell it is. hell if i  didnt just try every damn solution  on the internet and it still doesnt work. it aint me its yall's damn app!!!
