Re: Complex "I can not download BFV" problem

@CharleNerg, cheers for the tag.

I've passed it on to one of our Specialists and they would like to ask you to perform a few steps;
Would you maybe be able to uninstall the EA app and all its components completely? The best way to do this would be via a 3rd part program such as Revo Uninstaller, which removes any leftover files that could be causing issues.

After you have done this, please install the EA app again > check for Battlefield V in your My Collection and try to download again.

If this doesn't work, could you try to install Origin and see if that lets you download/install the game?

  • As recommended I installed Revo Uninstaller and installed EA App.

    After reinstalling EA App there is a slight change, if I go into Battlefield V in "My Collection" it now instead says "Year 2 Edition owned", which is still wrong.. but at least something is different! (Almost.png). I also attached a screenshot of the error I get when trying to download the title. Please note that other titles which I have purchased in the past (Battlefield 1, Battlefield 4), has no problem downloading.

    My hunch is that to be able to download the game, it should look like the "HowItshouldLook.png" picture, that "Battlefield V Standard edition is included in EA Play"

    Trying Origin next!

    (Big thanks! already made more progress than 4 days in support)

    @CharleNerg Using the origin client I am able to initiate the download, alas with abysmal downloadspeed. Will update tomorrow on progress!
  • Downloading Origin and downloading it from Origin worked! full game downloaded and playing online as we speak! BIG thank you 🙂

    Hey @CharleNerg,

    Thanks for the update! It is strange that the EA app won't let you download the game, but Origin will.

    Just out of pure curiosity; when you now close Origin and open the EA app again, does the EA app see that you have BFV installed? If so, can you also launch it via the EA app?
  • @EA_Leeuw Yes, opening the EA App shows that I have BFV installed, and I can also launch the game from the EA App, which means I can probably just use the EA App from now on.

    @CharleNerg, that's awesome. Really happy to hear that!

    I also now wonder if, for example, you ever remove the game from your system again, the EA app can download/install it again without issues. But, if it is working now with the game being installed via Origin and you're able to see/launch it via the EA app... I wouldn't want to risk breaking it again! 😅

    If the situation ever changes, however, say that you had to remove the game from your system and you want to use the EA app to download/install this game again, but it doesn't work (anymore), feel free to update this thread!

  • No it can't.

    And current version of Origin is forcing me to use EA Desktop App...

    This problem is known for lamost two years now...

    Do you have any other solution?
