GUYS, I've found the fix.

I had the same issues and had FIFA 23 not working aswell as the whole EA desktop app. Follow my exact instructions and hopefully it'll work for you too.

1: Navigate to your EADesktop.exe file location, most likely here: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop or somewhere similar, if you can't find it, go to computer and search for EAdesktop.exe and leave it to search, it will eventually find it, then right click it and click 'open file location'.

2: Find the application named 'EAUpdater' and run it, it should open a command prompt and begin downloading and updating everything, once it finishes it will automatically close the command prompt.

3: In the same folder, find 'EALauncher' and run it, it should now open your EADesktop app if you had issues opening it.

4: If you had issues with FIFA 23 like I did where it seemed to have deleted itself and wouldn't run. You should now be able to open it, mine had a new update after this, I updated FIFA 23 and then when launching it, it auto ran a long update on the AntiCheat and then auto opened FIFA23 when it finished, but it wouldn't leave the FIFA 23 loading screen so after closing it again and reopening, it finally worked and I had the EAdesktop app working again aswell as FIFA 23.

    I'm still one of those who like to play The Sims 3. I really love this version, with his open world. Even it is buggy sometimes.

    On my new gaming laptop, the EA-app is functioning, but I have lots of problems with the Sims 3 launcher. I can barely start up my game anymore since the EA-app took over, especially after an update.

    On my older laptop, with windows 10, the EA-app does'nt open up at all. I allready have tried all the things I've reed here, but nothing worked for me so far. So I can't play even my game there anymore. With Origin it was never a problem. I've played for years with so much fun on my older laptop.

    The EA-app is horrible. For me, it's the worst decision they made so far. Sorry to say this.

    For myself, I still miss Origin every time when I want to play my Sims games.
