You find a solution? I got the same problem.
- virtualbalboa_gg3 years agoRising Hotshot@lpvos5p573os I've been banging my head against EA support on this issue for over a month now. Every time I open a case with support either it gets instantly closed OR I get an email asking basic questions THEN it's instantly closed.
I guess EA doesn't want us to access the games we paid for or spend money on new games. - virtualbalboa_gg3 years agoRising Hotshot@holger1405 Myself, I've tried all the solutions suggested on this forum, but nothing worked.
Did you tried the suggestions in this post too?

From that page..
Suggestion 1: Run EA Desktop as admin.
Tried that long ago, Didn't fix it.Suggestion 2: Use MSI installer.
I'm not going to download and install an MSI file unless a paid EA employee gives me the link. Call me paranoid but here we are.
Suggestion 3: MS tool to fix programs that block installs.
Tried that. Didn't fix it.
Suggestion 4: Windows user name has special characters?
Mine does not. Neither do the other two user names on this computer.
Suggestion 5: Installer hangs at 99%
This isn't my problem, but I still removed and reinstalled the MS Visual C++ as it was suggested in other posts. Didn't fix it.
Suggestion 6: Download Beta version of the EA app at https://www.ea.com/ea-desktop-beta
Link no longer contains beta versions. Product: The EA app
Platform:PC
Error Report ID (learn how to create an Error Report ID in the sticky post) INST-14-1618
Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Application Installer
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 05/04/2023
Summarize your bug I get an error code (INST-14-1618) when installing the EA app. As I can no longer play Jedi Survivor until this app is installed on my PC, I will be requesting a refund from Steam if this issue is not resolved promptly.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try installing the app on my PC.
What happens when the bug occurs? Installation ends.
What do you expect to see? I expect a program to install when I run the installation. This is apparently too much to ask for with your shitty EA app.

(cm edit - updating thread for visibility on error)
- virtualbalboa_gg3 years agoRising Hotshot@niredan82 Good luck with this. Me and a bunch of others been having extremely similar problems for weeks and even months.
Yeah still having the same issue.

[Link removed - Admin.] I tried the fist one and it worked for me
I had the same problem, Deleted all files related to the old app i this case Origin and it should work
- @Blackcandybaby1 I found the solution deleted the files from origin all of them and it should work
- @lpvos5p573os I found the solution read the last comment
I was able to fix this problem by finding the MSI file that the EA web installer downloads. It downloads to a temp directory and it's named something like "EAapp-12.193.0.5450-2015.msi". Copy that file OUT of the temp directory (because it's going to be deleted when the web installer aborts the install). Then let the web installer cancel and close it down. Then install the MSI file directly by clicking on it. I think afterward you may have to run the "EA App Update" before it'll work.
I'm having the same issue with all the solutions
At least you can open a case. I'm trying to post something about this now because I'm running into this on a brand new computer in 2024 which is wild because this means this bug hasn't been fixed. I can't even submit a ticket because two of the required fields to submit are drop down options that are unpopulated.

I'm getting error INST-14-1603. I've tried the things in the 'guide' first post and a lot of the things other people mentioned. None of it works in my case; the EA app won't install. This is so bad that we're still at this stage with software in 2024 - they apparently don't know how to fix this, none of the official ideas work, and there's no help available from EA. (Altho that last one doesn't matter much. Think microsoft help, for example or other tech/media companies. Their help agents are almost always *completely useless* anyway. Unless it's a standard, common issue - but then those might be on their help page somewhere anyway.)

Update: Windows 10 Reset fixed it. I forgot to mention PC had other issues: other program run/install errors, shutdown errors, odd behavior + freeze, etc. So Windows needed a reinstall anyway. Funny that in this way, Windows is still as bad as it's always been! Maybe in another 50 years they'll figure it out 🤣. I doubt it tho...
