Re: EA App INST Errors When Installing

I have also been getting the INST-14-1460 error, and I've read through this entire thread and nothing has worked. I now can't play a game I bought, it is ridiculous. Do you have any other suggestions? I have made a case but have not heard back.

    • EA ID/Steam user ID:
    • Windows OS
    • Windows OS version
    • GPU model and driver version::
    • Region:
    • Are you using an internal or external drive?
    • Are you using an HDD or SSD?
    • Date this issue started (is it still happening?)
    • Any other errors?
    • If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip...⬅️We love these
    • Please attach a DxDiag
    • Attach the EA App Error Report ID Here
    • I have tried to install the EA app from the link on the website as well as from Steam, neither works.
    • Steam ID: 76561198202656843
    • Edition Windows 11 Pro
      Version 22H2
      Installed on ‎2/‎15/‎2023
      OS build 22621.1702
      Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22641.1000.0
    • Driver: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620, Version: 27.20.100.8935
    • US
    • Internal drive
    • SSD
    • I downloaded It Takes Two yesterday and spent several hours yesterday and today trying to get it to work, the problem remains.
    • At one point I got the "Get an app to open this 'link2ea' link" error, but I believe after I installed Origin that error went away and now I consistently get the INST-14-1460 error.
    • DxDiag should be attached
    • I can't do an error report through the app since I can't install the app, and I do not have ErrorReporter.exe nor can I find C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\, but I did file a report through the website with the case number 145400359.

    @louisadair26 Thank you. I took a look at your file and I can see quite a few issues going on with your computer. 

    First, I would Do any and all Windows updates including optional updates
    Your GPU needs a driver update as well

    I would go through your Add/Remove programs and start removing any programs you don't use.

    Optional Registry clean-up

    • install CCleaner (it's free) from here
    • Run Registry cleaner
    • Click fix all
    • Do not back up files

    Run this cleaner until no files show up.

  • I already did that. I searched for any updates to my computer and my drivers and updated accordingly. I also already downloaded the CCleaner and used all of its free functionality. If that is the problem then I have done all I can.

    I did all of that too, I wanted to play the It takes two. It is stuck. I updated all my drivers and did all the steps. Please help dont make me regret buying games from EA app.

  • So do you not have any other suggestions for me? What am I supposed to do? Wait for the EA software developers to fix the bug? Ask for a refund for the game I bought? Is there really nothing else I can do?

    @louisadair26 Once a new user account, safe mode with networking, and a clean boot has been done as the last steps, we would need to wait. I am still looking for information on this. This error has no actual definition but is related to certain aspects like security software, permissions, firewalls, etc. I am looking for more information and steps but I do not want to provide random steps I do not think will have any effect if the previous ones did not. I have seen this error with other programs and not only the EA App and games.

    Windows OS : Windows 11 home 64 bit(10.0 Build 22621) i was on windows 10 until 16/05/2023, then I thought maybe the Windows has the problem and I updated on windows 11
    GPU model  : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. The version 31.0.15.3179
    I'm using Internal driver 
    I'm using SSD
    I installed the EA APP installer on 16/05/2023 and its still happening 18/05/2023
    No other errors 
    The screenshots will be attached 

    1. I open the EA app installer, trying to install it
    2. I check the location where its installing
    3. I click install, and it will stuck on that for a long time
    4. Lastly will end up on that error (error code : INST-14-1460)


  • I dont know if this is my report ID but here goes :Case #145499151 
    If this isnt the report ID, i can't find it or dont know how to get it because of what I read. 
    On the earaportID.png it says if you can open the app on my case i can't even install the launcher
    On the earaportIDcantopen.png it says that if you can't open the launcher follow them steps on which i cant follow them.
    On the folder.pdf i click on electronic Arts and it will only show me one folder that says EA services, as you can see for yourself. 
    If im not understanding it clearly pls tell me how.
