Re: EA app stuck on 'Applying Update'

EA App refuses to download Sims4 after trying to update several times, it gets stuck on "Applying Update" and reads, NaN% . Seems this is an issue many people using the new EA launcher is having, I have tried clearing Cache, and completely getting off EA , but neither brought me a solution. Was SUPER excited to get away from Origin because honestly, it sucked, but this doesn't seem much better at this point, What solution is there?

  • I had this issue for Battlefield 2042, tried all the fixes minus reinstalling the game (too large of a game to try that unless i needed to) what I did was I right clicked the game in my ea play collection and ran a Repair on the game files. works perfectly now and even applied the update that was downloaded for me as well.

    Edit: misspoke when i said right click, in the top right corner of the game icon in the collection there is 3 dots, left click that and repair should be an option in that list. that is what i did. apologies for the confusion ;-;

    @InebriatedTurtThere's no way for me to right click the game in the EA app. Also doesn't seem to be a repair option anywhere except one for the EA app itself, which I just tried and it cleared cache and deleted the update. (BF 2042)

    Considering the EA app was updated on 12/5 and that's when my problems began, it seems like they broke something.

    Sad to say my solution wasn't as easy, I Uninstalled and re installed EA as well as Sims and all my content with it.

    I had to reinstall the app and game and that fixed the issue, I only play sims on ea and they haven't had an update since, so I am just guessing the issue us still there if my game ends up needing to update again.

  • @MirkOMatic apologies, i misspoke with right click, when looking at the games in your collection, there should be 3 dots in the top right corner of each game icon, click that then repair should be an option in that list, although I have only ever tried this with battlefield 2042 so I dont know if this is a universal thing.

    I have gotten past that part now and it says that the download is complete. However, when I press play, it goes to the "verifying" and then "finalizing" part. It just loops like that forever. It is crazy how many 3 year olds probably work at ea

  • @bobsledlee lo mismo con apex, origin era mil veces mejor en el ambito de actualizaciones, se instalaba con una velocidad excelente que ni se hacia sentir, ahora se demoran horas en actualizaciones de bajo peso.
    • The fix to the problem isn’t running as admin, clearing cashe or anything else dumb like that. you redownload the better app, Origins, and exit out of the EA app. when you sign into the Origin app then simply don’t do anything until the game you want has automatically updated. you can tell by the bottom left hand corner it will say it’s verifying files or something to that affect. once it’s done downloading close the origins app, then reopen the crappy stupid dumb EA app that everyone is having problems with. the app should’ve updated and all you have to do is open the app and play. i signed in here just to reply and tell you guys cause i was having the same issue and this worked and nothing else did. your welcome
