Hi I had the same problem today. I tried a lot of things such as deleting the useless files in %localappdata% and all that stuff but it didn't work.
But then I closed MSI Afterburner and it worked. I don't think it will always work but it's worth trying.
Can confirm I am having this issue on my end with SW BF2. Can't launch the game at all. It restarts EA every single time. I have tried reinstalling EA, Steam, and the game multiple times. No solution. Paid for a game that I can't even play because of a horribly designed launcher that does not work. Thanks EA!
Had the same issue tried everything but what worked for me was going in to ea settings and disabling ea overlay.
