Summarize your bug When launching Battlefield V through Steam, the EA App opens and says "Preparing Game", then this prompt closes and the game Validates on Steam. After validating is finished, nothing happens. When I launch the game again it goes through the exact same process.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? This occurred after I had played Battlefield V through the EA Play subscription pass for a while, then cancelled the subscription and later bought the game outright on Steam. After doing this, the game will not launch.
What happens when the bug occurs? EA App opens with a prompt that says "Preparing Game", this then closes and on Steam the game begins to validate. After finishing validating nothing happens. When attempting to launch the game again this process repeats.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the EA App launch and then the game itself to launch.

Steps I have taken to resolve this issue:

1) Uninstalling and reinstalling the game

2) Validating the game

3) Uninstalling and reinstalling EA App

4) Repairing EA App through the installer

5) Clearing Battlefield V folders in documents and Steam prior to reinstalling

  • Same thing is happening to me after following all of the recommended troubleshooting. It's very frustrating that a major game developer has such a buggy and broken product.
