Summarize your bug I am unable to log into the game after downloading the latest update and restarting the app. I am now getting error code EC:10005.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Are the servers down?
What happens when the bug occurs? Unable to log in
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to log in.

I have tried reinstalling the app and I am still receiving the error message and am unable to log in

    Same thing. Tried restarting, tried clearing cache. On the rare occasion I can log in all of my games look like they're missing then it kicks me out again a minute later.

    Yeah Same. Everything worked fine earlier today, I played the game fine, and then I decided to try to get the new For rent pack, and BAM the app froze and now refuses to connect to the servers when I try to log in. I either get the ec 10005 error or just a grey rectangle. Apparently Ea doesn't want me to buy stuff.

  • Me Too! It worked long enough to take my money for the For Rent pack and then stopped working within like 20 minutes of me playing (wanted to restart the game to try and fix a glitch and now I can't launch anything!)

    Yup, I just bought a game through Epic, and haven't even been able to install it due to server issues. Seems like a weirdly convoluted way to play a game, and I'll probably just refund if I have to rely on EA keeping servers up. Not the first time I've had issues with the app, and I hardly use it.

    I'm having the same issue. I just wish they'd post something that acknowledges that they're aware of the problem and are working on it.

    This is the first time I've experienced anything like this before with the EA App. Can't play either The Sims 3 or The Sims 4. This is really annoying. What is going on?!

  • Same issue, I got kicked out of a lobby a few hours ago and haven't been able to login ever since. Also tried the usual workarounds of reinstalling, cache clearing, the app's own "repair" function which seemed to simply do another reinstall, and restarting my PC.

    Judging by the number of replies this is a system wide issue, would've appreciated if the statuses on https://help.ea.com/ca/help/faq/are-ea-servers-down/ can actually reflect what's going on - if the servers are down, then it should say that; if the servers are up but we can't use the app, you need better metrics and need to make them transparent as well. 

  • Also having the same issue.

    - Restarted the computer

    - Restarted the modem and router

    - Plugged directly into the modem

    - Called ISP, all connections working fine from their and and my end, no packet loss.

    - Downloaded a fresh copy of the EA app, clicked repair, same error (Bounces between EC:105 and EC:10005)

    - Tried to start the app with admin rights, same problem.

    - Restarted computer in safe mode, still won't start.

    - Tried loading the EA App in Compatibility mode for XP and Windows 10, no luck.

    Having the same problem, and was told by EA to report it:

    "I would like to inform you that we have already created a know issue for this issue but our team has resolved this issue earlier over the EA app but they are many player over the globe which are getting the same issue so in this case I would also request you to please once report the same issue on the EA forum so that the officials have information about this issue and they can take appropriate actions and I will take this as a feedback and make detailed case notes about this and make sure it will reach to concerned department."
     
    Not sure what good it will do...
  • Been having the same issue.  Played Sims 4 earlier today without issue.  Spent the past hour executing all possible troubleshooting steps: 

    - restart modem/router

    - disconnect & reconnect wifi

    - update EA app

    - uninstall/reinstall EA app

    - repair app function in EA app

    - End Task via Windows Task Manager

    - Use EA App Updater

    Nothing works, clearly this is a widespread issue that's been going on for a while & needs to be resolved. Irritating is an understatement.

    Me too!

    • The container that the EA app login fields are on opens on my desktop for a second and is blank, then disappears (see attached image).
    • The EA symbol then appears in the systems tray but if I click it I just have the blank container for the EA app login pop back up. Sometimes it progresses to the landscape oriented rectangular blank container for the post login page but still stays blank.
    • On occasion, I get an error message (see below "login failed" screenshot).
    • Restarted my computer multiple times
    • Went to task manager and ended the EA task and tried to reopen
    • DIsconnected and reconnected from my WiFi router and even tried an alternate network

    File an error report and..........The error report experienced an error...... OH EA Get it together and fix this
