Re: "low on disk space" or "out of disk space" (EC:10602) error in EA app

Like I said, well over 250GB of free space. I tried installing it on my external hard drive too and I had the same exact issue. I tried contacting with a ticket and they said it was an "account issue" and then asked me to give them my account details, which i replied via email and asked what they meant, and I have yet to hear back.

I don't even think they got the response I gave them because the My Cases system is so confusing I couldn't figure out how to reply directly through the website (I looked at that article on EA Help and it didn't help)

    @impulsive_egg, thanks for the details.

    Would you maybe be able to generate an EA app Error Report ID and share this Error ID with us here in the thread?

    I will need to pass this on to the teams, because this is indeed weird. 😅

  • No, I don't think I can actually do that, because the EA App is not even installed on my computer. The entire issue is that I am unable to install it due to this bug, therefore I do not have access to the error reporter. Is there anything else I can do?

    I did go into my file explorer and windows explorer just to see if I could find the error reporter but there is absolutely nothing.

    @impulsive_egg, hmm, if it even wasn't able to install that part of the EA app, that is indeed odd. I don't think that there's anything else you can do at the moment, to be fair.

    Have you tried to run the installer with Administrator rights?
  • Yep! i tried several times. It does go through or pretends to go through the installing process with or without the administrator rights, I just keep getting that low on disk space error, and then I get nothing. It doesn't even prepare any folders in my files.

    Can you make sure the team is aware of this issue? From doing a lot of googling, which is usually how i troubleshoot and solve my technical problems, I know I'm not the only one who's been running into this problem, there just does not seem to be a fix for it at all, or even an idea as to what is causing the issue.

    My EA account is linked to my steam, and the games that I have on origin and on steam would be the sims 4, dragon age inquisition, and jedi: fallen order.

    @impulsive_egg, yes, I have made the teams aware of the specific issue that you're facing.

    Your issue seems to be a tad bit different as to where this thread originally is about and it also seems to be a quite rare issue, because you get a different type of disk space error and you get it immediately when you're trying to install the app, without being able to generate an Error ID.

    Just out of curiosity, are you perhaps able to download/install this .msi of the EA app (a somewhat older version) without it giving you an error?

    Hey @impulsive_egg,

    A follow-up question. It's a bit of a long one, but it would help the teams tremendously.

    Would you be able to share some EA app install logs with us? I can then pass this on to the EA app team for investigation.

    You should be able to find these installation logs in Windows temp. folder, which you can open by pressing the Windows + R keys (on the keyboard), which opens a program called "Run".

    In that program window, type "%temp%", after which you press the "Enter" key. If all goes well, a Windows Explorer window will open that shows you the Temp. folder of Windows.

    You should be able to find a folder or file(s) named "EAappInstaller_XXXX.log" here. The "XXXX" is a random number or letter sequence.

    It is also possible that these log files can be found in a temp. folder that is one level higher, if you have a Windows session-specific temp. folder that only consists of a number.

    Example:



    If you can find these log files, could you please copy & paste them into a new folder on your desktop, then pack this new folder (with the files) into a .zip or .rar file and upload it here as an attachment of a message?

    Note: Please don't copy & paste the quotation marks.

    1) I was not able to install that .msi file due to an issue with windows installer (which is something I've run into before trying to play cities: skylines, I never understood nor resolved the windows installer issue instead just bypassed the C:S launcher with the help of a developer)
    2) I did, however, find a bunch of EA App logs! I attached the most recent log in the temp folder. I feel like I just discovered a scientific breakthrough to solving my problem!

    Hey y'all! I just fixed my problem! i don't know if it will work for everyone who is running into this issue since my situation was unique (because I monumentally screwed up my own computer due to my own poor choices) but I now know why the app wasn't installing for me:

    I had disabled windows installer. If you've run into an error message after trying to install/update something that says "The windows installer service could not be accessed", you might want to try restarting the windows installer service, here's how to do it:

    1) open the Run Program command prompt either by right-clicking the windows icon in the bottom left of your screen and clicking "run" OR pressing the windows key + R on your keyboard at the same time

    2) type in the bar services.msc which will open all of the services that runs your computer

    3) scroll down until you find windows installer (It is in alphabetical order) and double click it

    4) in the general tab, make sure the start-up type says automatic or manual

    5) in the same tab, under service status, press start OR press stop, then start.

    6) hit apply, ok, and now try to install/update whatever it was you were trying to do

    I really hope this will work for others, this was by far the most frustrating technology issue I've ever run into and it was my own darn fault

    I am also sseing low on disk space error. I am attching two screenshots. I have tried to istall the EA app on two different drives. One of them has 90GB of free space and the other one has more than 350gb. Both the times I got the same error of low disk space. I have tried in C and M drive(screenshot attached).

    Please look into this.

    Glad to read that you've managed to fix the issue yourself! Thanks for mentioning the steps here. 🙂

    @ace6be07023e1f65, you are not able to install the EA app in a different install directory, other than the default C drive.

    Could it be that you have the same issue as @impulsive_egg?

    Has there been any forward movement on this yet? I'm getting this same error now. I'm shocked to see this goes back to January. That's not okay.

    @Moxirah @p1nklemonad3, did you both install the game on a separate internal drive, so not the C drive?

    And what is the amount of available space on your C drive?

  • Can i Please get some help in trying to fix Battlefield 2042? I cant download the update for the game it keeps telling me I dont have any space Ive redownloaded the stupid EA app atleast 10 times Ive cleared cache each time... What else must I do?????

    Could you share a screenshot of the error? And also a screenshot of the available space on your local drives, please.
  • I downloaded the EA app again twice today and still nothing switched between all 3 of my drives and still this issue....

    why does it only download to my C drive????? it literally making me go back to my C drive the ONE time i was able to get it on my E drive it reverts back to this bull....

    This is what I was originally trying to do but If i download it on any drive besides my c that literally has on 250 gb....... it doesnt work. wtf is actually going on??? ive cleared cache , redownloaded many many many times and its still happening? any insight would be nice because at this rate ill never buy a thing from yall again.

    @CraniumFluid, so the EA app can only be installed on the C drive. It is not possible to install the EA app itself on another drive. However, you can install games that you want to download via the EA app on another drive. This can be configured via the EA app settings. Is there where the confusion might be?
  • Alright i could of sworn that I had it on my E drive before but regardless I cant download the game on any drive at all

    Is there a solution for that? because if you're just going to tell me to redownload the EA App and to try to redownload it again idk what to say atp.

    I think I have the same problem on my Mac. I am trying to install Sims 4 from Origin and it says it's unable to do it because of insufficient disk space - it asks for 7GB and I have 130GB free space.. I have no idea how to resolve it. Can anyone help?
