Re: [Resolved] Unable to launch The Sims 4 in EA App after moving from Origin

Same issue, can't launch the game, tried repairing the game first, then uninstalling/reinstalling the EA app, then uninstalling/reinstalling the game. Nothing helps, same error message each time.

Edit: Just to add, I did try the suggestion to move the user folder but re-launching the game isn't even getting far enough to recreate it.

    Following up, I was contacted by EA support and I'm finally able to launch the game. In case it helps anyone else, what worked for me was to follow the instructions in the "Reinstall security updates" section of this document:

    There were 4 total updates in my Sims 4 folder, for the first 2 I ran the installer as suggested and chose "repair". For the last I had to go through add/remove programs to launch the repair since the installer just exited saying the software was already installed.

    Why is this even marked as solved, if the issue still persists? Kinda ironic that we spent literally thousands on the game that we can't even launch. Thank god Origin still exists, because knowing sims bugs is here to stay

  • Nvm, looks like Origin if finally dead. Welp, hopefully this problem is fixed before the new pack launches then lmao
