I am disappointed in the removal of Syndicate 2012 for PC. It was on my list of games to buy, after I saw videos of it on YouTube.
One of the many great things about PC gaming is the ability to buy and play old games that go back many years, even decades ago. This is why it is sad to see a PC game removed and no longer available.
Wow - I just came on to buy 3 more copies as gifts - as it has great coop online. I cant believe its delisted?!

@Giganticube the game was indeed removed from sale. It used SecuROM online as a copy protection and the authentication servers (which weren't administered by EA) are starting to close. To be honest, i am amazed that it didn't happen sooner. I hope that EA will remove the copy protection and bring it back for sale, but it will prolly take some time.
- @EA_Darko Sure, but the 1993 game (That I loved) you can still buy and I might again ,:D
but if my Math is right it's the 19 years newer version you delisted... Was it the wrong one XD - EA_Darko4 years ago

Hey @PercentAphid042 it was 2012's Syndicate that was removed from the store.
Darko - @EA_Darko hi. Is there any reason that you can share with buyers? I really want to buy this game digitally on pc, and there were no options anymore. Is it possible to vote anywhere to revert it back? Don't want to become a pirate (

What @ivrognard describes is the first explanation of delisting Syndicate I have ever seen. There was this drama with delisting Syndicate Plus, Syndicate Wars and Ultima Underworld, which media wrote about earlier this year. EA eventually agreed they were wrong removing the games from digital stores and even shared them for free. But Syndicate 2012 just... disappeared. With no announcement, no media response, nothing. Hardly anybody noticed.
Very sad. I had this game on my radar. Finding out it disappeared only earlier this year is... well, hard to describe how I feel. The story with SecuROM gives some hope or at least it's good to know it isn't just EA's malevolence, rather some force majeure.
I doubt EA is going to bring it back anyway considering how unpopular/unsuccessful (no matter how good) the game was. Huge pity.
However, can the game still be played if it was previously bought via digital means?

@feline789 well, on the other hand PC has no secondary market. On PC is it very easy to eliminate a game just like that - remove it from digital stores and when there are no retail copies left anywhere in the world - a game is dead. The end. And after 9 years there surely aren't any.
You can still get physical copies of the game for xbox 360 on ebay or whatever.
I'll never forgive Valve for what they have done to PC game market but this is a topic for another discussion...

But guys, what if this https://twitter.com/_Tom_Henderson_/status/1457853679340503045
isn't just a fake rumour and the game series is Syndicate?
If it can be considered "series". And if "fans loved back in the day". Did they?
Who knows 🤷♂️
edit: I found out the tweet was about Fight Night

Hey @br0sashka I will pass your feedback on.
Darko It's sad that Syndicate 2012 was removed, I discovered the game a few years ago on YouTube (GmanLives channel) and I wanted to buy it at some point but now it's gone.
Also today, I discovered Mercenaries 2: World in Flames on YouTube and then learned it was taken off of Origin about 6 or 9 months ago. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to buy Mercenaries 2: World in Flames as well, it looks like such a cool Far Cry/Just Cause type game.
Also wanted to buy Battlefield Vietnam (2004) after seeing it on YouTube, you can play solo against bots in this game like in classic Counter-Strike (Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and Counter-Strike: Source, both of which I own on Steam) and it has a cool Vietnam theme. I just feel disappointed that those games are not on Origin or Steam/GOG/Epic/Microsoft store etc...

Hey @feline789 this is the risk you take with older games, for any number of reasons it can happen that they are no longer available.
Darko Hey I paid full price for this game and just came to replay it and - it's gone. Can I have my purchased game please, or my money back?

Hey @manc4 if you own the game it should still be there in your My Game Library, I checked mine just now and can see the game is there.
Darko Hi Darko,
Thanks for the reply. I wonder, do you have the game installed?
It was in my library but not installed but it's now nowhere to be found, as though it never existed.
I was meaning to replay this after so long. Is there any way to get it back?
Thanks,
M4

It's showing in My Game Library for me with an install option @manc4.
Darko @EA_Darko Found it and now installing.
It wasn't showing in Game Library but did appear when I clicked on my name and hit the 'games' tab.
I guess the game library isn't a complete view.. Thanks again.

Great to hear that @MlecznyDuet.
Was trying different things this side trying to figure out if it was hidden or filtered somehow for you.
Darko - @MlecznyDuet They could easily sell it at GOG or Zoom Platform. Not sure why you said PC has no secondary market.

I'd totally buy it on GOG
I would buy this on GOG/Zoom/whatever place as well. Also, I'd love to see Battlefield Vietnam, Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, Mercenaries: World in Flames etc... on GOG or Zoom or elsewhere as well.
I bought Crysis (2007 version) and Crysis Warhead on GOG last year (I also own Crysis Remastered from Epic Store) and I hope they don't remove these classic Crysis games, they are so good. I love Crysis Remastered but the classic version from 2007 is still great and I don't want to see it disappear.
- MlecznyDuet3 years agoSeasoned Veteran@DoomSooth I don't know what you mean, gog is a retailer on a very much primary market, you cannot sell non-physical "used" copies lol
Can you explain why I'm holding the physical copy of this game, yet i cannot activate it or play it on the EA app? I paid $20 for this game and its a paper weight. What's most interesting is I can still download it, view my serial key in the app, yet i cant start the game.
I'm having the exact same issue; it keeps asking me to either enter the Product Key (which causes a crash when I try to do so) or if I want to switch to a different Origin User. Attempting to enter the Product Key tells me that I am not connected to the internet and thus I am unable to enter the key. I tried switching to a different Origin User and just entering my information for my account again and it won't work either. If I am unable to play the game, I would like a refund for it.
