Re: "This game will not run in a virtual environment" When Launching NFS Most Wanted

@martyM12

You seem to be using a VM (Virtual Machine), as the message says, you should only use your main Windows environment.

This may not be possible if you are on a corporate, military, University or other machine that is "not yours".

Thanks.

  • Thank you for your reply Barry, attached is an image of my "Turn windows features on/off"-settings, and I have the "Virtual machine platform" setting turned off. Do you know of another way to use the main windows environment? Every time I look up a way to do it, the closest thing I find is a recommendation to use a Windows Sandbox from the start function, but it appears Windows 11 does not have this function. Plus it seems that if I did so, I would not be able to save my game progress anyway.

    Thank you.

  • Do these guys ever actually reply with a solution? Every thread asking this question just seems to be left abandoned....

    This is because they have got hold of your cash and can't be bothered to address any issues and hope that you will just go away and stop asking!

    This methodology works only to a certain breaking point, once you have got stung at least twice then you start to change your behaviour and then you start to avoid said company because you don't want to get stung again.

    For alot of people this happened when Battlefield 2042 was going to be released, 100's of thousands of people all pre-ordered 2042 thinking it was going to be the greatest Battlefield ever with some people pay over $100 and then what turned up was a complete buggy and pathetic release with very little maps and weapons and completed destroyed the Battlefield franchise and to try and cover up their problems and buggy code they blamed it all on the players for expecting to much and then doubled down of the BS to the point you could then buy the $100 package for $25 for a few months just trying to get as much money from those who knew little about the debacle, then upping the price back to full launch day prices to make it look like a AAA game

    This is why company's like EA do not actually offer support for their products and spend small fortunes doing the same "download a new copy and see if that fixes things" support hoping you will get fed up and go away while they keep your cash

  • Barry, perhaps you should use common sense and see that the person is not using a virtual machine? The error is pretty self-explanatory, and the person who asked this question seems to be smart.

    You suggesting such a simple and obvious resolution indicates that you do not really want to help your company's customers. Furthermore, you simply repeated what the error message said, and said that this is the reason. You told it in such a manner as if it's some kind of breakthrough. It is really offensive that you think your company's customers are so stupid.

    Please, use common sense and help customers, this is your job, after all. And if you do not know the solution, please, escalate this to the developers or technical department. Do not use the fact that the customer did not mention in the question that he's not using a virtual machine as the excuse for your answer.

    You perfectly know what you did and why, to create an illusion that the ticket is solved, so your boss would be happy with you.

    Do not excuse yourself, it does you no credit.

    I also receive the same error message on my Surface Pro 8. It occurs when I run NFS Most Wanted 2012 and Dragon Age 2.

    And I am not using Virtual Machine, this is for the greatest support agents ever here.

    Help resolve this issue, please.
