so, this is what I did to get a game to dl/install to the destination i chose.

-on the directory you want to download the game on, make a folder (ex: D:\Apex)

    -uninstall EA desktop

    -reboot

    -reinstall EA desktop(default settings/location)

    -log on

-click the 3 lines on upper left of app

-go to help > app recovery, then hit the clear cache button. should restart by itself

    -exit app after it restarts

-right click EA desktop and run as administrator

-pick the game you want to dl

-pick your destination (mine was D:\Apex)

    -boom

maybe it woudlve worked if you skipped the first step, but right now it's downloading on there and I'm glad with that.

No matter what I change every game I install from EA Desktop Beta (as I'm launching that from Xbox Game Pass) FORCES the install to the C: drive.

I've set the default in settings to G:\EAPlay and when I start the install it shows the correct path - G:\EAPlay\(GAMENAME) yet as soon as it starts downloading it writes files into C:\Program Files\EA Games - nothing I do will change this and as I run a small partition for my OS I now can't install anything via Play.

I've tried everything I've found in this thread yet it always goes to C: instead of what is shown in the UI.

    Thoughts??

@SergioShen6: Facing the same issues here. Always installs in C: instead of what is in the UI or which path I selected before downloading

Sergio, take a look at the #4 comment; ended up working for me.

Its annoying, but when you're about to install the game, click the link to change the install location, and then manually type G:\EAPlay. For whatever reason, the install only works properly for a top level directory. I ended up creating a new folder for mine (D:\MassEffect)

It turns out you can use this trick for higher folder level, you just need to repeat the operation by just typing the folder name of the second level (without typing the fist level !).

    Hope this help !

    Cheers
