The Sims 4 Stuck Updating & Bar on the Bottom of my Screen where the EA app is

Hello, 

I have the EA app on my Macbook Air. I have the Sims 4 and it requested an update, a few months ago it was getting stuck at 99%, but now after a few months trying to open it again, it is getting stuck at 8%. I already cleared my cache, and customer service could not figure it out. 

There is also this weird bar on my screen of which I've attached an image. 

Notice where the EA app is all the way on the left. Here is an image of where it is getting stuck in the progress bar: 

The app is also randomly crashing on me at times.
