i am having the exact same error and it's been like this for MONTHS, no matter what i do, no matter how many times i reset, whether im using steam, xbox game pass or whatever this stupiud ea app wont let me play the games ive paid for

Hey Theo1004N​, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
If that doesn't work, you may try to do so using REVO uninstaller or CCleaner, but please keep in mind that these are 3rd party tools, so they are at your own risk.

If nothing seems to be working, as I said in the highlighted message, please contact our EA Game Advisors so they can check if everything is okay with your Account.

VoidLordCzSk​ Theo1004N​  I just had this same problem. turned out i had two EA accounts, one new one linked to ps5 and another old disabled EA account i had forgotten about, linked to my steam, and so my current EA account would not function in accordance with steam. to fix the issue i trialed and errored using my old gmail accounts in password reset, and once i found the right one i logged in from there with my new password. after I was logged into the right account on the EA app i was able to launch the game regularly from Steam. if this is the same situation that is happening with you, you are either stuck switching between two accounts, or the support chat can unlink your old account from steam, however you will lose all access to the games linked to that old account if you do. if only steam had a section that showed you which external accounts you have linked, this wouldn't be an issue, but alas.
