Can't Access The Sims 4 Bug Reports Archive

Often I search up The Sims 4 bugs on google and the results link to archived bug reports, however, every time I try to open them recently the EA Forums say I don't have access to that page or it doesn't exist. I've attached a screenshot of the message.

Is there a reason the archive is no longer accessible? There are many bugs that weren't fixed yet that are there, and some have workarounds in the comments that are hidden due to that. I first noticed this on August 12th, and haven't been able to open the archive since. I was able to access it just fine on August 2nd, so it's a recent change.

Edit: I've tried chrome, firefox and microsoft edge, so not a browser issue.

  • It was recently brought to my attention that The Sims 4 Bug Archive from AHQ is missing. When AHQ was transferred to these forums the old bug reports went into an archive section that couldn't be commented on or added to.

At the time the response was that there was no need to report currently open issues since the current bug reports were being migrated to it's own section (see screenshot I got when the migration happened, i.e. back in January 2025, so that 9 days ago was a relative time that point).

Now that entire section has disappeared, we can no longer see that information on those many reported bugs.

Is it possible to bring it back? In addition to it providing a list of outstanding bugs, in some cases, it provided information about things being by design or it provided suggested workarounds for some issues.

Also, FYI, if you google an old bug it will still come up with the old link, but if you select the link it goes to the main page of the EA Forum.

Google result for a bug search:

What I see when I select the link:

    Best regards,

It looks like the bug archive isn’t publicly accessible anymore after the migration, since old AHQ bug report links now just redirect to the forum homepage and only the current “Bugs” section is available. The archive was definitely useful for tracking known issues, workarounds, and notes on what was “by design,” so if you need to reference older reports in the meantime, you could try using the Wayback Machine (archive.org) by pasting in the old URLs until EA clarifies whether that section will be restored.

  • Just wanted to add that there used to be a link for the Bug Archive on the Sims 4 EA Forums Homepage and it used to be linked under the Featured Pages, both links have gone now.  It was a spellcaster book icon I believe.  This change appears to be recent.  I know I definitely looked at old bug reports in the archive months after the migration to the EA forums.

It seems daft to me to delete/remove general access to the entire archive if there are old bugs still being investigated.  Also it was a wealth of information for those of us who genuinely want to help and might want to link to an archived post in a new bug report if it relates or is similar.

I don't like the way it was just removed without informing users and no explanation as to why they don't want us to access it anymore.

    Hey all,

Thanks for the question, we’re happy to share more about why this change occurred.

In January 2025, we migrated 12 years of content from our old forum software, known as Answers HQ (AHQ) to the EA Forums, our new platform. This was an EA wide change to unlock more tooling and integrations with a more modern system.

This merging of content from AHQ to EA Forums was important for two reasons: first, we needed to keep that content accessible on our side for the backend database, and second, we wanted to be transparent with the community by ensuring older bug reports weren’t just swept aside. This is why it was imperative to us that the archive was made public after migration.

That said, nearly every relevant bug report from that migration already has a newer thread created by players in the EA Forums Bug Report idea board. We’re still actively investigating and resolving issues from the now hidden section and you’ll continue to see updates on these issues in Laundry Lists and Patch Notes under the [Bug Archive] tag.

The decision to hide the migrated section ultimately came down to usability, as we heard that players were searching for bugs on Google and landing on locked threads they couldn’t interact with. Those 8 to 10+ year-old reports are in many cases no longer actionable for our teams investigating active issues anymore, as The Sims 4 has been constantly updated and added  much more content during that timeframe.

Unfortunately, we can’t control how quickly Google clears out those older links as that’ll take some time as SEO updates. In the interim we encourage you to check the Compiled List of Reported Issues for up to date statuses on all of our currently tracked issues.

  • When we all arrived here on the EA forum (many of us actually come from the now defunct AHQ), there was an Archive board, which has now disappeared. All links to that board no longer work. It was useful to be able to consult them, as sometimes there were useful workarounds.

  • Hi EA_Cade

Thank you so much for responding to this thread, which I have just found.  I would really like the access to those reports restored.  As other responses have pointed out, there are workarounds for bugs contained in them, as well as indicating some things being by design.  I literally just read a report today Sept. 12, 2025, which I know was reported years ago and for which, I'm 99.5% sure has a workaround in the old report to get around the issue.  Problem is, I can't look to help the simmer and don't recall off the top of my head now what the workaround is.  It isn't listed in the current compilation of reported issues either, as far as I can tell.

Indicating that players landed on locked threads that couldn't be interacted with wasn't my experience, if I found an old report via a search.  crinrict always had a newer thread linked on the reports I ran across because I would use that link to get to where I needed to be.

At any rate, if the decision to hide those archived reports could be revisited and reversed, it would be appreciated.

  • Hi, adding my vote also to please unarchive the old bug reports. Sometimes we want to look up workarounds for old bugs or link the reports to those looking for more information/help. Or sometimes we want to compare new instances of the same bug with how it was before, so we can report more accurately and provide better information for the team moving forward.

  • EA_Cade, the archive wasn't used only for seeing bugs actively happening. As others mentioned, it helped us to see workarounds and if something is by design.

Heck, what caused me to notice the archive was hidden in the first place was looking up IF a bug was fixed or not. I read about a bug with horses, found an old report about it, and couldn't open it. I have no idea if that bug was fixed or not, because I'm not reading years worth of patch notes just to see if horses had a bug fixed.

I have the same experience when trying to click links on the forums.
