Disappearing pictures

So, new feedback... over the last couple of days I've noticed that the icons for the various forum sections have been disappearing.

Today, the pictures in my story post disappeared for about thirty minutes. Oddly, they didn't show the little "broken picture like" icon. They just weren't there at all... and then they came back. 

So that's... odd.
