There's a big issue with answers to status update posts and the only option found is to remove the status posts to prevent answers
As for the notification problem, if there's more info asked, you should always get one as those are posted separate from the actual update post.AAR is an exception which is why I discussed this with a community manager and we're going to leave those for the time being.
