I think it's kinda sad....

That if you look at 'most viewed' or 'most replies' on the posts here; you get posts from 10 or 11 years ago.

This new forum is not user friendly. I keep wondering why it was changed? Normally, if you make a change, it's for the better. But this was not. I used to be on the forums a lot. And I was here when they were just changed. And I think I've been here twice after and now today. Makes me feel sad.

  • I feel like that too.  The layout of the last forum just allowed for people to be able to browse and find things more effectively, popular threads like the ones where you post pictures of what went on in your game, tell stories etc. could go on indefinitely with no issues, it was just easier to navigate.  I hardly even bother to post anymore.  And the issue with 'most viewed' etc. just makes me think of users searching problems they're having in their game today and getting answers from over a decade ago that are no longer relevant.  That is sad.

I do like that we're apparently able to have personal icons again though.  xD

  • Nostalgia always brings the feels.

    I definitely agree with you.

Edit: I wish we had our own pages to post on instead of a thread that gets polluted by comments.

The sims 3 and 4 forums.  We had our own pages to be artists and explore with friends.

Some players just want to post their art with no explanation or comments like me. Most likely the picture posted has nothing to do with you unless you like reading into things and making issues about you. I only post for my gameplay...Not anybody here...

I'm reluctant to make a thread here just to post pictures of my game because I can do that anywhere....

I miss having my own in-game picture thread like in sims 3 and 4. This is what I miss about posting screenshots in this game to explore myself...not anyone else.

I can still post memories on my sims 3 account just like 2009.... nothing has changed.

Just now, when I came back to see responses, there was a feedback box about the forums. I basically said most of what I said here. They ended it with; we care about our users (of the forum) - but it really doesn't feel that way. But hey; I can't keep repeating myself - it is what it is.

Transitions inevitably come with growing pains but I wanted to assure you that our team is listening to your (and many others) feedback and that we're committed to building the best experience for everyone. Your voice is helping to shape the future of EA Forums.

Thank you for being patient with us during this adjustment period!

  • It's also very tiresome to scroll through the forum, especially when the posts are very long with lots of text and pictures. On the old forum, it took you automatically to the beginning of first unread post in a thread, but on this one you first have to scroll past the first post and if that first post is really long, you need to scroll past it every time you want to read new posts on that thread. We need an easy way to add spoiler buttons. And bring back pages instead of the Show more button.
