Incorrect redirect

Starting yesterday the link to my Community Builds post has been redirecting to a Sims 4 post instead. The link is copied correctly... but redirects incorrectly.

My post (added in a space after https so you can see the actual text)... https ://forums.ea.com/discussions/the-sims-3-en/soocoolsims-showcase-%E2%9A%9C%EF%B8%8F/1568017/replies/1568019

goes here...

  • I have been getting incorrect redirects as well. Instead of Sims 4 General Discussion I have been directed to a particular Sims 4 post from 11 years ago or a 7 year old Star Wars post. Fun!

  • Well I clicked on the link above this morning and it lead to the correct TS3 post even though it still reflects TS4. So weird these glitches.

Well that was short-lived. Back to incorrect redirect again... this time to a different post. And to boot, another of my posts is also directing incorrectly now. I really hope the programmers get to the bottom of what causes this so it can be fixed.

It's something we're chasing, thanks for the post.

If you're encountering this, you can clear your cache, and it should fix the broken redirect, for a while at least.

In Chrome, you can click the 3 dots up top, then "Delete browsing data". in the next page go to the Advanced tab, uncheck everything but Cached files and images, then delete data. The link should work again.

  • Thanks for responding EA_David . I usually use Edge so went to Settings / Privacy, search and services / Delete browsing data and that did the trick.

  • Well, it's good to know I'm not the only one having such a proble. It started happening a day or two ago. I play SWGoH, so naturally that's the section I open when I'm looking through the forums. Except, every now and then, when I click on a thread to open it, it opens a completely different GoH thread from years ago, or even one from the Sims or Simpson sections. Example, I try to open a thread about Datacrons, I suddenly find a Sims 4 thread about a challenge from 10 years ago. Even when I go to the browser search bar to directly open a thread instead of searching for it, the forums go to a completely different thread in a completely different section.

Also, not related to redirecting, but it would be a nice touch if I didn't have to sign in every time I visit the forums. Admittedly, all I have to do is click Sign In and I'm immediately signed in, but does get annoying after a while.

  • Since a few days I have the same problem. I created a bookmark to go to the sims forum directly and now I am redirected to a random post on the Simpsons even if I never touched that game or posted anything about it. Very annoying. I have no intention on starting to play that game.
