Opinion on New Forums
It may just be unpopular opinion, but I find these new forums to be painstakingly difficult to read ,(text is tiny, and colors are blinding), follow thread, my hand hurts from scrolling through hun...
Forum Discussion
I checked back in here after a month to see if anything has improved, but nope. These forums are still so bad I wonder how anyone determined they were an improvement over the ones of old 🤣
It appears that these forums are primarily for tech help (and not for discussing the game, sharing screenshots, etc). That's where the improvement is. It's also why in the Sims 4 section all technical help categories are listed before the creative and discussion ones (and why default sorting for each thread is by "most liked" and why we can mark solutions). I don't think there was any intention to push visitors of the old forum which focused on discussions out, but because the user experience of these forums is so awful for that, trying to discuss the game here seems barely worth it.
Unfortunately, we make up an exceptionally small percentage of the player base and more people seem to be leaving all the time, so it seems like the old categories will become basically dead by the end of the year. Only Heroes and a handful of others will be left.
Except AnswerHQ is by still far better for tech support & I hate to say this, sightly better useability wise as a general forum.
That seems to be the case here.
It's seems like the last thing they want to do is serve the old community that mainly want to socialize and share.
Definitely feels that way.
That's the whole thing, these forums aren't supposed to be for techhelp. We're supposed to forward people to AHQ for that. The sims specialists/hero's are already complaining about this for weeks, EA split the bug reports across two platforms (un)intentionally making it even harder.
I'm the same. I check in every so often, might respond to one post, then disappear again. I don't feel it's a welcoming place now, and that has nothing to do with the members.
